Prog tax hikers push class warfare, government control of wealth, hysteria
Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:19AM *Prog is shorthand for progressive.
Progressive Democrats are pushing a vote on taxes Saturday. These progs are pushing class warfare, government control of wealth and hysteria to justify enabling a tax increase by permitting tax rates to expire.
The result of various proposed bills would at best have the so-called “middle class” experience no rise in rates. The worst proposal would also include tax increases starting at $200,000 for singles and $250,000 for couples. Bear in mind they want the tax increase to fund programs like ObamaCare, amnesty, global warming, the misguided GIVE Act and whatever else big government proponents come up with.
President Barack Obama and his fellow progs in Congress who have never run anything other than a government job are using the old brainwash tactic of repetition in attempts to establish political fact. Among Democrat claims are: 1) The government just can’t afford to let upper incomes keep their current rates and the most laughable—2) The American taxpayer can’t afford it.
You show me a progressive who is really concerned about what government can afford and I’ll show you a real live donkey singing the Amy Winehouse song, “I don’t wanna go to rehab.”
Fiscal rehab is exactly where these tax and spendthrift progressives need to go.
What progs are proposing will definitely affect small businesses. A research briefing at the GOP website (based on material from the Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal and others) said, “According to IRS data, fully 48% of the net income of sole proprietorships, partnerships, and S corporations reported on tax returns went to households with incomes above $200,000 in 2007.”
Many of those small businesses hire unskilled or low skilled labor, the most vulnerable among us. So if you’re one of those workers, or, for that matter, a worker with high skills, don’t buy into the class warfare these big spenders are pushing. That small business that gets hit won’t be able to give you or anyone else a job.
As the tax talk got heated, Roll Call reported one hysterical Democrat likened the tax debate between the GOP and the Dems as negotiating with terrorists. Those Dems see the GOP as holding the tax cuts “hostage.”
Bear in mind how long progressive Democrats have held total absolute control of Washington. Do you really buy into the myth they could not tax however they wanted to? Why did they wait until the last minute to address such an important matter?
Above all, what we earn is not the government’s money, it’s ours.
We should pay reasonable amounts to run our government for sure. But the fiscally besotted government structure we are funding at present must be reformed and downsized. The only way to get that done is to prevent Congress from taking more money so more money can be spent by government.
Every time members of Congress voted for a tax increase, they spent more money. That’s the real story progs are hiding because class warfare, hysteria and government control of wealth are driving their imprudent agenda. Remember that as 2012 draws near.
