NBC’s Chuck Todd says Journolist ‘kept me up nights’
Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 9:59AM Most national branded media haven’t been enthusiastic about jumping on the Journolist story The Daily Caller broke. Hundreds of leftwing journalists belonged to the listserv founded by a 22 year old named Ezra Klein.
Roger Simon wrote an essay about the Journolist, and he includes remarks from NBC’s Chuck Todd who is technically NBC’s White House correspondent. Todd told Simon that Journolist was “offensive” and he said the list had “kept me up nights.” Because, you know, he tries to be “fair.”
Emails revealed by TDC reflect liberals creating a political narrative in zombie-like synergy, with a goal of seeing to it that Democrats got what they wanted—control of the US government with President Barack Obama leading us all to his dysfunctional Party’s version of the Promised Land.
These are the same media who preached a propaganda sermon against any conservative politician who stood out from the crowd. If you don’t believe me, just open your eyes because it’s cyclical.
When a conservative begins to get attention, that zombie machine goes to work, denigrating and hating.
When the Tea Party came into the political arena, high profile media couldn’t wait to brand these everyday Americans as racists. Fact is these people are the only Americans who really get it, who get what the wonks and the academics and the ideas people are doing to our great Republic—making us citizens of the world and seeing to it that we send our wealth to developing countries and mortgage our children’s future. These are the ideologues who divide our Republic via an obsession with race. They are the international purveyors of American guilt.
The age bias directed at Sen. John McCain during the 2008 elections and the gender bias as well as religious discrimination directed at Gov. Sarah Palin are a product of those brainwashed media shills whose goal is to reshape the U.S. as a collectivist Utopia.
Via Journolist, media employees strategized about how to sling charges of racism at conservatives (it didn’t matter they weren’t racists and it didn’t matter who they were.) All this was ongoing as Anita Dunn, Obama’s teleprompter director, in the interest of controlling the press, was slamming Fox News and other White House insiders were doing the same. Obama's adviser David Axelrod did the same thing on ABC, saying Fox News wasn't really a news station. Pundit George Stephanopoulos never batted an eye, but in truth, the former adviser and communications director to President Bill Clinton was probably ready to celebrate.
Aside: Shepard Smith and Brett Baier are two of the most objective anchors in the news business. As for analysts, Chris Wallace is leagues above anyone else in the business.
The left hates Fox News because the left cannot control it as they do other major networks.
While all that leftwing smearing was going on, presidential candidate John Edwards was playing linen tennis with one of his campaign staffers by whom he sired a child. All while his wife suffered from cancer. And he looked at America and claimed he was a family values guy who really (really) loved his wife.
The National Enquirer broke that story, by the way. And then the same tabloid broke the Al Gore-masseuse incident(s). Oh, well, iconic Democrats always did love a woman on her back—FDR, the Kennedy men, Clinton, even lowly Florida congressman Tim Mahoney whose story simply faded into obscurity because he used the traditional Democrat Party pass big branded media confers.
Once Obama took the White House, that same media refused to cover the realities of expensive bills like HR 1388, the hypocrisy in Obama blaming Bush for the deficit when the president’s Party had taken over two years before, the vagaries of the Obamacare legislation, the insidious nature of the Cap and Trade bill (HR 2454), the sellout of Americans to the UN who now has an open avenue to tax us, the undermining of our sovereignty by permitting the president of Mexico to stand in our Congress and berate the American people who want laws observed in our country. Those are just a very small sampler of stories that real media would cover—conservative media, by the way, did cover many of those.
Here at TUSR we covered them all and then some.
If there is one message Republicans need to relate at the grassroots level, it is that you cannot trust most of national branded media. The brands that we grew up admiring are no more. They have been taken over by youth like Klein whose starry-eyed collectivist views can probably be ascribed to his upbringing and schooling, neither of which have any connection to those of us who are everyday people or to Main Street.
Trevor Loudon at Noisy Room reveals a number of names on the Journolist and matches them with publications.
Todd claimed concerns about the potential impact on “fair” journalists kept him up at night.
Meanwhile, Warner Todd Houston at Big Journalism makes an excellent case for naming Todd Number 4 on the list The Top Ten Most Left-Biased American Journalists.
When you look at the cesspool Washington has become and when you look at the record looting of the American people as well as the disrespect for everyday people the political class displays, you can thank people like Ezra Klein and Chuck Todd. It is their media machine, the despicable Journolist, and the traditional TV networks and the high profile newspapers that helped put these people in power.
If I were Todd, that’s what would keep me up at night. (Commentary by Kay B. Day)
