Main St. GOP congressman and ‘Caviar Class’ Democrat weigh in on Tea Party
Monday, August 2, 2010 at 2:54PM I came across a couple of videos that show the difference in how Republicans and Democrats view hardworking people down here on Main Street where I live.
Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) spoke about the Tea Party on the floor of the US House. Democrat candidate for California governor Jerry Brown demonstrated his party’s approach to Tea Partiers on Chris Matthews’ Hardball. Matthews has worked as a Democrat staffer and speech writer for various congressmen and administrations including that of ex-president Jimmy Carter.
I admit being astounded by vicious slurs aimed at Tea Party supporters by leftwing extremists on networks like MSNBC TV, and even by members of the White House staff like David Axelrod who cleverly used the 'tea bags' pejorative—profanity you might hear from an adolescent using bathroom humor.
What Axelrod and his fellow members of the ‘Caviar Class’ don’t get: Tea Partiers are in the sector that pays income taxes. It does make a difference if you’re on the receiving end of the federal government’s largesse rather than on the end the government’s taking from like a pig slopping up scraps in the pigsty—if you’ve ever heard a pig do this, you’ll know right off the bat that’s the same sound the federal looters make as they devise ways to keep on spending at the expense of the hard working citizenry.
What the lower socio-economic groups don’t get is confirmed today in an Associated Press story, and it’s a ‘truthism’ I’ve stated many times—When the rich have it hard, the poor have it harder. A front page story in the Florida Times-Union on Monday carried the header, 'If rich get poorer, everyone will suffer.' [AP story/Jeannine Aversa; 8/2/10]
Frankly, I’d like to see Pence run for president—his strong fiscal conservative ratings resonate with my top priority in a political candidate. The people you send to Washington have an impact on your money and that has an impact on your freedom. Both would be in good hands with Pence, in my opinion.
These videos show a sharp contrast between the Republican attitude displayed by Pence towards Tea Partiers and the Democrat attitude demonstrated by longtime statist Jerry Brown, currently running for governor of California. As the 2010 elections loom, Main Street should pay attention because the ‘Caviar Class’ looters are incapable of reforming spending which is the single greatest domestic threat our country faces.
The first video shows Democrat candidate Brown calling the Tea Partiers 'Tea Baggers.' Brown speaks respectfully about the unions before he mentions California's world class economy. The state is currently running a deficit of more than $19 billion.
The second video shows Rep. Pence speaking about the Tea Party before the US. House. Note that Pence speaks respectfully and does not degrade any American.
And therein you have the difference between Main St. GOP congressman Pence and 'Caviar Class' candidate Brown.
