Leftwing targets Cain, Perry: Sex, lies and no videotape

As the video shows, Obama has often joked about his birth certificate as he did during the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2010. Obama was received with raucous applause and enthusiasm by the press, most of whose members actively lobbied to get him elected.

A story brewing about Herman Cain and another story about Texas Gov. Rick Perry have nothing to do with each other except for the fact both stories continue a longstanding tradition by Democrat-allied media.

I keep telling conservatives we’re not only battling the leftwing, we’re battling a powerful media machine that has run interference for Democrats all my life.

Cain and the unidentified women

For starters Politico has a story suggesting current Herman Cain was (allegedly) accused of inappropriate behavior by a couple of women who worked with him at a trade association. The women were allegedly paid off by the association. The Politico story also contained numerous quotes from actual named sources who praised Cain and said he treated all his employees well. The positives were, of course, at the end of the lengthy article.

It is a given that corporations often settle disputes out of court. It’s cheaper to do it that way and everyone knows we live in a society where lawsuits are as common as Democrats’ calls to raise taxes.

Some media outlets—even Fox News this morning—referred to Cain’s actions as” sexual harassment.”

Here’s a legal definition of sexual harassment from the US Government’s Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I bolded key tenets:

“Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitutes sexual harassment when submission to or rejection of this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment.”

The accusations Politico made will be difficult for Cain to defend—most arbitration agreements are kept confidential. Neither Cain nor the counsel who handled the matter can talk about it. Based on Politico’s mostly unsourced accounts,  I’m assuming the unnamed women can’t talk about it either. The allegations amount to gossip at this point; no documentation has been released and it is likely the charges would be impossible to prove. Unlike stings from the right, the leftwing doesn’t provide videotape.

Cain’s at the top of the polls right now but he’s been a target since day one. Cain is a black conservative and the leftwing cannot abide a black conservative.

Erick Erickson at Red State provides commentary about the allegations regarding Cain. Erickson wrote, "We have never seen a candidate publicly vetted before like this."

Perry and the leftwing birthers

Twice now reporters have raised the issue of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate in interviews with Perry. You want to see a leftwinger come unhinged, that’s probably the quickest route—just mention that birth certificate. Obama’s made jokes about it and the issue has become a colloquialism, a basis for jokes and cartoons.

In an interview with Parade and another at CNBC, reporters raised the birther deal. Perry responded. I have commentary and sources on the Parade piece at my Examiner column. Time Magazine has a complete transcript of the CNBC interview.

Politico’s Roger Simon came unglued and accused Perry AND a significant portion of the Republican base of racism.

Repeating: Perry did NOT raise the birther issue. And most conservatives pretty much believe this president may as well have been born on another planet because he is so completely out of touch with those of us who work for a living.

Where Obama was born sure as hell isn’t going to make a difference when WE go to the polls in November. All we have to do is look at our bank accounts and consider the increased costs of food and utilities and everything else largely due to Obama's energy policy.

The race card is of course the most familiar in the liberal deck.

Question Cap and Trade, Obama’s bows to foreign leaders, tax-cheating Democrats or the class envy Democrats promote and by God, you are a racist. State you are against tax increases for anyone and the left will call you a racist.

Conservatives and independent voters see the light

Remember the prez who was supposed to unite us under a happy banner of hope and change? Didn’t work out so well, did it? One of the first cards Obama’s economic adviser pulled was to tell “white male construction workers” not to apply for Stimulus jobs.

Americans are routinely thumped on the head with the race card by Democrats because: (1)racism is very profitable for many leftwing organizations and  (2)Democrats have a long history of racism.

Leftwing media will continue to assail GOP candidates. Leftwing media was an actor in getting a Democrat in the White House and that effort resulted in cataclysmic failure. Leftwing media can’t praise their man on his record, so their only option is to attack the candidate’s character.

Andrew Breitbart broke the story on sex-tweeter Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.),  and The National Enquirer broke the story on former presidential hopeful Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.)  Both men had been messing around for quite some time.

Liberal media weren’t about to rain on this parade of fair-haired boys. After all, it took nearly half a century for the truth to emerge about Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s most high profile mistress and many academics rationalized her as FDR’s “respite.”

It took about the same length of time for confirmation of Lyndon B. Johnson’s racist remarks. For that Democrat, there is an audiotape confirming that for Johnson, the N-word was a familiar term.

Conservatives need to get smart

As a final recommendation, I have to tell my fellow conservatives: Sometimes you act as dense as liberals. On Sunday, as the Cain story broke, numerous Cain supporters posted a link to the Politico story on Facebook. Congratulations! You just earned that story link love from all the search engines. You really want to help your guy, comment on the story and cite the source but don’t link it.

I get media on my site all the time. Big media love to read here but they often will not cite me because (drumroll) I am not big media and they aren’t about to help me build any credibility. Good thing is most of our readers come directly to the TUSR home page.

Bottom line: Stop helping the people you oppose. Cite, yes. Link, no.

If you want to provide a link, go to commentary at a  conservative site and link to it.
