Obama’s chums go to jail, head off to greener pastures
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 9:33AM Most media are currently obsessed with digging up whatever on the Republican presidential candidates. One blogger from The Washington Post even Tweeted an appeal for followers to help dig up something about former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, the current GOP frontrunner.
Gingrich is the one person President Barack Obama would not like to debate, for obvious reasons.
As progressives chat and Tweet in their leftwing news cubicles across the land, political relations from Obama’s past are back in the news although most of the stories haven't run above the fold.
Tony Rezko just learned his fate—10 ½ years in prison. Rezko was a fundraiser for Obama; the relationship dates to Obama’s Illinois Senate Days. Rezko’s wife also sold Obama some property in Chicago. We might know more but Obama’s Senate records seem to have gone missing. Newsbusters details Rezko’s past and future. Noel Sheppard notes the lack of coverage on Obama's long time chum.
Another rather unstable figure, Michael Pfleger, whom the Catholic Church rather remarkably still calls ‘Father,’ got reinstated to his post in Chicago in late spring. Pfleger had shot his mouth off again, this time on a leftwing radio show. Remember Pfleger was a fan of Obama's racist pastor.
Meanwhile Obama’s green energy guy Van Jones, pusher of windmills and solar money pits, has apparently set himself up as a spokesman for the Occupy movement.
Politico, in a tenderly written feature, said Jones aims to organize a leftwing tea party. I’d say good luck to that. Jones is all about wealth disparity, like most Democrats these days. Funny thing is, none of these socialist types appear to want to part with any of their own money.
In other news related to Democrat scandals, former Senator and presidential contender John Edwards succeeded in getting his trial delayed. How the Edwards saga of mistress, baby, campaign funds and bizarre loyalty from a former staffer will play out is anyone’s guess. Let us not forget who broke the Edwards scandal. The National Enquirer surfaced the story big media deliberately buried.
Otherwise, Obama’s Dept. of Justice is busy busy busy going after states who are desperate to do something about insecurity related to the open southern border. Obama’s too busy to do anything about the border, and besides, warm bodies coming across shouldn’t have a very hard time registering to vote for Democrats eager for warm bodies.
The states, of course, should coalesce and file a lawsuit against the federal government for criminal negligence of duty. As an aside, someone should tell our constitutional scholar the president there’s nothing in the Constitution prohibiting states from doing everything possible to keep their communities safe.
As media get all hot and bothered about the GOP candidates, life with Obama goes on. The Solyndra scandal is an epic horror story of greed, corruption and criminality. The DOJ’s foray into Fast and Furious should, in a moral government, result in charges and prison for those who planned, implemented and carried it out.
The Fast and Furious buck, by the way, stops with the DOJ chief Eric Holder who appears, like Obama, to have Teflon in his DNA.
Media are just too busy with Republicans at the moment to Tweet, dig and investigate Democrats. Not much changes in Washington where for progs, the chickens never seem to come home to roost.
