Tenth Amendment Center launches Tenther Radio

Dr. Thomas E. Woods is the author of numerous books including 'Nulllification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century.' The Tenth Amendment Center will launch a weekly show on TRX: Tenther Radio on Wednesday, June 22 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific.  Author and scholar Thomas E. Woods, Jr., will be a guest on the inaugural show. To listen go to the Tenther Radio website and click the play button.

Dr. Woods is a New York Times bestselling author who is a senior fellow of the Ludwig von Mises Institute. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from Harvard and his master's, M.Phil., and Ph.D. from Columbia University.

Woods’ book Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century re-introduced a concept dating to our founding fathers, that states had the right to basically opt out of federal legislation that infringed on powers reserved to the states.  Woods has written numerous other books as well.

For example, states that pass medical marijuana laws are exercising a de facto form of nullification. States that do not want to participate in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are in effect attempting to nullify that extremely flawed legislation many call ObamaCare. Historically, states used nullification of the Federal Fugitive Slave Act—secession by Southern states was a rebuttal to that nullification.

The Tenth Amendment Center has made Americans aware of a lesser known amendment as far as the general population goes. However, in principles of personal freedom, the Tenth is just as important as any other amendment.

Woods is one of a number of scholars at the forefront of a classical liberal—the closest philosophy would be that we now call Libertarian—trend in the U.S.

Listeners can call in by dialing (323) 843-6008. It’s a given the dialog will be interesting because Woods and those involved in the Tenther movement are among the most well informed figures on the political front today.

The Tenth Amendment Center also relies on donations from like-minded supporters and there’s information on the website about that opportunity. I’ve contributed because I believe this movement is one of the most authentic and liberty-minded in the nation.
