Is Obama’s cavalier attitude on social security based on pensions?

President Barack Obama has gone on record with a threat to seniors—if Republicans do not conform to his party’s demands on the debt ceiling, social security checks may not go out on August 3. What would give a president confidence he could carry out such a cavalier threat?

As soon as he threatened to hold back those social security checks, legitimate media should’ve called him on it. Unfortunately media with the biggest pulpit are in line with the Obama agenda. No one thought to ask him anything. Legacy media is too preoccupied with re-electing the president they elected in 2008.

The US Report took a look at social security and various government reports. There is no reason social security checks should be delayed. For one thing, according to Obama’s administration officials, the social security trust funds are solvent right now.

CNS News provides reasons for more assurance with data from the US Treasury Dept.

Furthermore, the government should have an additional  revenue uptick in July because of employer deposits from withholding taxes.

GOP presidential contender former speaker of the House Newt Gingrich offered a good idea for dealing with Democrats' obstruction on spending. Gingrich has always been a good ideas man. [Screen snip from Newt Gingrich 2012)GOP presidential candidate and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich offered a good idea:
"House Republicans ought to pass a $100 billion cut with a $100 billion debt-ceiling increase, which takes care of all the Social Security checks in August...Say to the president, 'OK, we've taken care of everybody who needs to get a check in August.  Are you going to tell Senate Democrats to block it?  Are you going to veto it?'"

Sen. Mitch McConnell offered a political solution that would put the burden on Obama, but fiscal conservatives were up in arms about conceding any more ground to the president who deserves a gold medal for setting spending records. He’s had help of course from his party leaders in the Legislative Branch—Democrats just couldn’t find the time to pass a budget although they found plenty of time to keep on spending.

Conservatives should remind themselves Obama will threaten the vulnerable. His socialist progressives used military pay as the pawn in political games in April.

What’s bizarre, however, is that Obama would pull the Granny Card, in essence getting behind the very Granny’s wheelchair-off-the-cliff scenario Democrats falsely accused the GOP of. Dems of course forgot the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act cut Medicare, and Obama forgot PPACA (also called ObamaCare) has already given him that tax increase he’s lusted for so long.

In 2006 then-Senator Obama voted against raising the debt ceiling. He admitted to ABC News he did that for political reasons. What he didn’t admit is that he’s obstructing solutions on spending now for political reasons.

Why does the social security threat warrant a second look?

Are union pensions a factor?

Simply put, did Obama know his union people would be taken care of (pensions) and also government employees would be taken care of (pensions)?

Only Main Street was at risk, and last time I looked, regardless of your skin color or income range, Main Street was at the bottom of the socialist progressive heap.

Last night I talked on the phone to a couple seniors. For the umpteenth time they told me I was right in 2008. They both swore they will not vote for a Democrat in 2012.

I find it really hard to believe that the government would put the US at the worst health risk there ever was by suspending social security payments. Not only is this endangering the health of others, it would cause massive amounts of debt build up and backed up medical bills.
