Biden allegedly sees ‘terrorists’ in Congress; Putin says U.S. a ‘parasite’

Notes on the globalization of drama queenery

by Kay B. Day

V.P. Joe Biden denies calling fiscal conservatives in Congress 'terrorists.' Biden is famous for his gaffes. [Official White House photo]Democrats often find their inner drama queen during a political battle. Former Rep. Alan Grayson (Republicans want you to die) and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (If you want smaller government, you are a RACIST)—those are working examples of what I’m talking about.

Some Dems even resort to costumes.  Oregon Rep. David Wu dressed up as a tiger and flashed the image to his staffers. At least he was clothed. Most of America has become eminently familiar with the bottom half of drama queen N.Y. Rep. Anthony Weiner’s anatomy—he’s practically a household name because of his Twitter habit.

During debt talks with Democrats in Congress, Vice-President Joe Biden allegedly called fiscal conservatives in Congress (aka Tea Party supporters and/or sympathizers) “terrorists.” Biden denies he said it. Personally, I don’t buy his denial because calling FisCons names is a tactic straight out of the Democrat playbook.

That was not too long after Sen. Al Franken (Minn.) made a big poster for his floor speech. The poster read, “Welcome Terrorists.” Franken omitted the comma, but things get so rushed in D.C. commas get overlooked in many instances, including large figures representing record US debt.

What tea party hating socialists don’t realize is that down here on Main St., there’s a lot of sympathy for those tea partiers. Conversely, there’s not a lot of sympathy for the political victimology progressives have made a lifestyle of.

The GOP has a serious opportunity here, and Republican Sen. John McCain (who also bashed fiscal conservatives) might want to listen up.

Just as tea partiers and their sympathizers swung the 2010 midterms to Republicans, they can do the same in 2012. As Obama and his fellow Democrats spend the U.S. into oblivion and come up with new ways to tax all of us, Main St. is taking note. For the first time in a long time, people are paying attention to what the central government is doing and spending. Technology of course makes this easier than ever.

As Arnold Ahlert wrote at Front Page, “[T]he national conversation has been altered. And while it is convenient to blame Tea Partiers for that change, there is a level of denial on the part of Democrats that borders on breathtaking. A lot of Americans, far from blaming the Tea Party for the debt ceiling deal, are giving them credit for it.

Biden has never been known for his wisdom, so his character assassination of his fellow Americans (alleged) comes as no surprise. On the other hand, Biden may be surprised when November, 2012 rolls around.

Meanwhile Russia’s prime minister Vladimir Putin just called the U.S. a parasite. Drama Queenery has gone global.
