Nobel Prize winner refuses to renew APS membership over warming alarmism

Study the politics of climate change (formerly manmade global warming and before that the Little Ice Age) long enough, and you will come to realize science has been prostituted for financial gain.

The only comfort is that some experts are brave enough to insist on objectivity rather than group think. The group thinkers have the bully pulpit right now, however.

From the academics who declare absolutes when absolutes are not possible, given the age of the Earth and the absence of foolproof data, to financiers who see green in those emissions, to well-nurtured journalists incapable of truth seeking, climate science has become a circus of fraud, deceit and the opposite of what science is really all about.

If this surprises you, you are ill-informed about a global movement that has caused your electric and food bills to rise, your insurance and fuel costs to skyrocket and your lifestyle to be threatened by elitists who, like Al Gore, are happy to scalp a mountain to build a mansion but begrudge you your active thermostat on a 100-degree day.

Despite lies told by politicians and self-serving academics, the science is not settled. With collusion from legacy media, these sycophants have covered up scandals like ClimateGate and serious conflicts of interest.

Now Nobel Prize winner Dr. Ivar Giaever has refused to renew his membership in the American Physical Society because of the APS position on manmade global warming. Dr. Giaever shared his reasons for his decision in an email subsequently published at The Reference Frame, a blog written by physicist Luboš Motl who has also disputed global warming alarmism.

Giaever was blunt in his statement:

“The claim (how can you measure the average temperature of the whole earth for a whole year?) is that the temperature has changed from ~288.0 to ~288.8 degree Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me is that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this 'warming' period.’”

Both Motl and Giaever have expertise alarmist chief Gore lacks. Gore isn’t a scientist or even a statistician; he’s a politician.

Next time a politico or dewy-eyed progressive tells you you’re frying the Earth with your lifestyle and they tell you no respectable scientist is skeptical of manmade warming, mention Motl and Giaever. Numerous experts disagree with the United Nations’ position on global warming.

Meanwhile, a key figure in alarmism, Michael Mann, is fighting to keep his emails at the University of Virginia kept secret despite the fact those emails are public property. Mann has well-heeled donors aiding him in the fight; it’s likely although I can’t prove it they have money to gain/lose in the financial racket that in my opinion warrants organized crime hearings in Congress.

Giaever’s non-renewal in what is viewed as the nation’s top physics society should be above the fold in every national media publication, at least in those that are trustworthy.

I have also contacted the APS and indicated to them that I will refuse to establish or renew my membership in their society or related organizations until they withdraw their statements claiming "Global Warming" is "incontrovertible".

Jim, I commend you for your bravery. Sad that with all the advances in science, there are those who would squelch efforts to practice good science as the alarmists do.
