Florida women and GOP women nationally gear up for victory

As Florida’s Republican Primary Date approaches, media make much of the ongoing battle between the two frontrunners vying for the Republican nomination. The rhetoric is often heated and supporters defend their candidates with passion.

That’s to be expected. Remember the Democrats’ struggles ahead of their primary in 2008? One supporter of then-Senator Hillary Clinton even made a YouTube video accusing President Barack Obama of ‘stealing’ the nomination. GiGi Gaston produced the video, ‘We Will Not Be Silenced 2008.’

That isn’t likely to happen with Republicans. Once a nominee is selected via the primary and caucuses, rest assured the Grand Old Party will march ahead in an attempt to unseat a president whose policies have, in the minds of conservatives, caused hardship for the middle class and the women Democrats target in every election.

In Florida, the Florida Federation of Republican Women will be a central force in helping turn out the vote, campaign for candidates and spread the message that the Republican Party has a big tent welcoming all. That messaging will be replicated via state groups across the nation.

A new website, the Florida Women’s DC Project, has been launched with a goal of keeping the public informed about breaking news, talking points to share with voters and details about Republican candidates.

Pundits may argue about the candidates, but in the end, it’s the commitment that counts. You can count on Florida’s women to mount a mighty effort to change out the White House and to elect Republicans to any open office when November 6 comes.
