Jail for one filmmaker, zero bureaucrats—no justice for Americans killed in Benghazi

(Left to Right) LTC Andrew Wood, Eric Nordstrom, Charlene Lamb and Patrick Kennedy testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee in October. U.S. media downplayed the hearing, part of a mobilization of bias to help Democrats get reelected. [Photo from C-SPAN screen; The US Report]Four brave Americans deserve better. The American people deserve better. The Accountability Review Board has issued a report about the Benghazi scandal and just as in many other U.S. government reports, accountability and transparency are missing.

Thus far, former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty, Air Force veteran Sean Smith and Ambassador Christopher Stevens’ deaths have produced no justice.

The only party doing jail time is an indie filmmaker with mediocre skills who was displayed in a perp walk for the benefit of Islamists.

That filmmaker had nothing to do with what happened in Benghazi, but he was marched off to jail on unrelated charges.

The report did further unglue one talking point the administration of President Barack Obama pushed. The ARB admitted “terrorists” were solely responsible.

That admission is at odds with Obama’s recurring campaign rhetoric—that al Qaeda was “on the path to defeat.”

The report makes no mention of anger over Obama’s drone strike policy, far more expansive than that of President George W. Bush.

The report does mention allocation of funding and limited resources for the Consulate in Benghazi. However, the U.S. State Dept. had resources that could have been diverted. Is it more important to add new visa windows to offices in Brazil and China than to add security for U.S. personnel? Democrats apparently think so. Ah, well, workers in Brazil and China were glad to get those jobs.

Anyone who watched the hearings about Benghazi in October knew a coverup was in progress and most of us knew that was an effort by media to protect the Democrats running for office in November.

International media had reported three attacks on a “Libyan military intel office” in Benghazi by August 1. Apparently Sec. of State Hillary Clinton didn’t take those reports seriously. Clinton has yet to speak about details on Benghazi, claiming she had a concussion after a fall after a bout of stomach flu. You can see why Dems love fantasy figures like Big Bird so much—neoliberals have amazing imaginations.

Meanwhile, Team Obama-Clinton completely trashed the U.S. First Amendment, the provision limiting government control of free expression, by repeatedly apologizing to Islamists, blaming that obscure filmmaker no one knew about until this administration made him famous.

Obama has repeatedly pledged more transparency in government, but his actions demonstrate he is less transparent than Bush 43.

The Accountability Review Board report on Benghazi isn’t posted in full—the public only has the unclassified version.

Bureaucrats do like to protect their own, evidenced by this passage:

However, the Board did not find reasonable cause to determine that any individual U.S. government employee breached his or her duty."

Thus, Woods, Doherty, Smith and Stevens are further disrespected even in death as one irrelevant filmmaker sits in jail and bureaucrats go free, knowing their salaries, pensions and perks are intact.

We deserve better. All of us.

obama literally gets away with facilitating murder. We have a murderer in the White House and no one has the courage to get rid of him.
