OWS activist arrest evokes memories of Weathermen and Pelosi’s blessing

Democrats have slandered government reformers at every turn, but when it comes to Occupy Wall Street, there’s a different tactic. Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) praised OWS protesters for their “spontaneity,” saying, “God Bless them.”

With another OWS activist arrested, past violent movements like the Weather Underground whose leaders eventually became associated with leading Democrats like President Barack Obama come to mind.

The latest arrest is a typical “revolutionary” story. Young people, often educated at Ivy League universities and most often born with the proverbial silver spoon, decide to liberate people they know absolutely nothing about in their personal lives. Most who participate in these movements are seeking purpose in an otherwise purpose-less life.

The New York Post reported the latest OWS arrest:

The privileged daughter of a prominent city doctor, and her boyfriend — a Harvard grad and Occupy Wall Street activist — have been busted for allegedly having a cache of weapons and a bombmaking explosive in their Greenwich Village apartment.

The paper said the boyfriend had 7 grams of HMDT—hexamethylenetriperoxidediamine—an explosive that can be made at home. Instructions are posted at various Internet sites, including a page hosted at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Although Obama’s Weather Underground pal Bill Ayers enjoyed a remarkable rehabilitation, possibly because of his family connections, Ayers never repented for the property damage or physical injuries his social experiments caused. For that matter, he’s never repented for the influence he’s had on public education either, but you can draw your own conclusions about the quality of public schools in your area.

Ayer’s reputation was pretty much whitewashed, as you can see by the remarkably tepid writeup at the Democrat-leaning publication Time.

Whether the couple arrested in New York will continue their “revolutionary” ways or eventually enter the mainstream is anyone’s guess.

Ironically, media don’t quiz Pelosi or her Democrat colleagues about crime associated with OWS. Media are, however, happy to carry slurs and vitriol from Democrats targeting government reformers.

You can read about Weather Underground at the FBI vault.

On the OWS arrest, The Post said:

Morgan Gliedman — who is nine-months pregnant — and her baby daddy, Aaron Greene, 31, also had instructions on making bombs, including a stack of papers with a cover sheet titled, “The Terrorist Encyclopedia,’’ sources told The Post yesterday.
