Waters forgets about violent rhetoric, screeches about GOP ‘demons’

How soon they forget, those Democrats who were so concerned about violent rhetoric. Remember how they blamed the Right for the Tucson shooter whose family turned out to be closer in ideology to the Left than to the Right? Even The N.Y. Times admitted the shooter’s mom was an environmentalist. Things went quiet on the shooter’s politics once we learned he wasn’t even close to the Right in his thinking.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was preaching to the choir at a gathering in San Diego, and she got a little carried away.

Waters screeched her message, attacking Speaker of the House John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor like a harpy on steroids:

"I saw pictures of Boehner and Cantor on our screens [at the convention]. Don't ever let me see again, in life, those Republicans in our hall, on our screens, talking about anything. These are demons. They are bringing down this country, destroying this country, because they’d rather do whatever they can do destroy this president rather than for the good of this country.”

It goes without saying that we are trying to retire President Barack Obama and as many Dems as possible to save the country rather than to destroy it—he and his party have done quite a job on Main Street already.

Waters is the epitome of the political class, placing ideology above reality, using wildly inappropriate language to describe her colleagues in Congress. She and her fellows have done little good for the so-called poor they claim to protect. As a matter of fact, life is harder now for both the rich and the poor. As always, the political class is exempt from hardship.

To be fair, Waters has also been known to attack Democrats when they don’t agree with her. Remember allegations she pushed (or shoved or ‘whatevered’) House Appropriations Chair David Obey when he said no to her earmark request?

That request was dear to Waters because—get this—it was designated for a center named after her. If you and I were texting right now, I’d type: LOLOLOL. The designee: the Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center.

Waters has been in the running for Porker of the Year in the past at Citizens for Government Waste. CAGW has a backgrounder on how Waters enjoys squandering those hard-earned dollars you and  I send to the Washington money looters’ pit.

Waters should apologize. If Boehner or Cantor had called her a “demon,” Big Media would be calling for their resignations. We'd hear about this for days. Waters has been in Washington since 1991. Waters dealt with an ethics issue in 2010, but Dems shut that down quickly when they still had absolute control of Congress. After all, they had their hands full with representatives like Anthony Weiner of Twittergate fame.

Democrats put people in office and leave them there until they’re practically fossilized—the late Sen. Robert Byrd comes to mind.
