Dual standards in promoting Obama on NBC by using the Navy SEALs

Snip from the US Navy SEALs Ethos. NBC News is promoting Brian Williams’ interview with President Barack Obama about the killing of Osama bin Laden, an operation that Americans were told took place in Pakistan. Williams interviewed U.S media’s favorite president in the Situation Room in the White House.

NBC’s ardor aside, here’s what no one has mentioned.

If we’d captured bin Laden and brought him to the U.S. for questioning and waterboarded him, the Left would’ve ramped up (existing) calls to haul President George W. Bush before the International Court of Justice.

Media would’ve run thousands of words, complete with photos, about what constitutes torture and how important human rights are.

We kill bin Laden, and media, having declared him neutered during Bush’s last term, celebrates the killing. Select media are of course enhancing Vice President Joe Biden’s claims about Obama’s “big stick.”

Bottom line: waterboarding bad. Killing good.

Politico reported NBC had this to say:

“’The NAVY Seals Special Operations teams executed an ambitious, dangerous mission months in planning. Our viewers will hear details never before revealed and see the nerve center of the White House Situation Room in this special broadcast.’ said Steve Capus, President of NBC News.”

First Vice President Joe Biden broke protocol when he blabbed details of who actually took bin Laden down. Transparency is one thing, but Biden could have endangered the families of the men who took part in the operation.

Our V.P. told the world facts about a sensitive military op but the U.S. Dept. of Labor guards statistics on jobs like they're the mythic gold at Ft. Knox?

The Navy SEAL Ethos includes:

“I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions.”

This administration is using the military as nothing more than a campaign tactic.

Funny thing. When Republicans and Democrats were battling over raising the debt ceiling, the administration and the Democrats could have cared less about paychecks for our military.

I’d be willing to bet we knew where bin Laden was for a long time before our military took him down. I’d guarantee that had Bush 43 issued the command Obama did, Bush would’ve been assailed by media, Leftist academics and of course the Democrats. Islamists would’ve worked themselves into a frenzy.

The hypocrisy in our current political climate in Washington is so rancid I can smell it all the way down here in Florida.
