2012 Election
Rubio calls out Dems for Cuban denial

Democrats tend to label voter groups based on what benefits the party. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) had a lot to say about the Left claiming the senator’s views aren’t popular with hispanics* in general. Dems forget Rubio grew up in Miami and is the son of Cuban immigrants, but reality is often a foreign concept to the Left. Read Rubio’s remarks at Politico and read earlier commentary at The US Report about Rubio’s wow address at CPAC 2010. Rubio (photo above) is in the news as a possible vice-presidential contender although he has repeatedly said he will not run.

Consumers
Identity theft can make your life miserable

Lax credit regulations and lack of identification for voting are a Democrat product.  The Columbus Dispatch took a look at how identity theft can make your life miserable.

U.S. Presidential Election
State of the race: Romney vs. Obama

A new poll has Romney leading Obama by a slim margin. The Real Clear Politics average of polls has Obama slightly ahead of Romney, but the RCP average is skewed by one poll some of us consider suspect—a National Journal Poll from the third week in April that gave Obama a wider margin than any other poll. Deseret News has analysis of the latest poll; The US Report has commentary on polls in general.

Democrats
Rep. Jefferson goes to jail

Former Democrat congressman William Jefferson heads to prison after being convicted on charges related to bribery. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) promised to “drain the swamp” when her party gained absolute control of the Legislative branch in 2006. She failed. Read about Jefferson at Maley’s Energy blog; read about other Dem scandals at The US Report.

*Ed. Note: The US Report does not cap the label for race. We don't cap black or white and we don't cap hispanic.
