No surprise to TUSR as Caddell points to Donilon as source of security leaks

This cartoon originally run in Puck alludes to a leaky ship, but the real intent lies in the words on the paper at the outgoing mayor’s feet: “Bad Appointments to Cripple the Incoming Administration.” History does repeat itself. The US Report was not surprised at Pat Caddell’s allegations about President Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor Tom Donilon.

Breitbart.com picked up the story after Caddell’s explosive interview via The Victory Sessions on Sunday.

“National Security Advisor Tom Donilon is likely the source of recent intelligence leaks that have prompted calls for an investigation by Democrat Senator Diane Feinstein. Caddell explains that he is certain Donilon is the source of the leaks…”

Caddell said Donilon is “known in Washington as the leaker-in chief.”

When Donilon was appointed, I took issue with Obama’s choice because Donilon is, to the core, a political animal.

Donilon got the appointment after National Security Adviser Gen. James L. Jones resigned. Jones built a record of distinguished military service.

I wrote:

“Donilon has been a career politician. He worked for President Jimmy Carter. The Washington Post also said, ‘He was a registered lobbyist from 1999 through 2005, and his sole client was Fannie Mae.’ He has served as a deputy national security adviser since 2009. Hopefully some of what Jones did rubbed off on Donilon.”

Remember all the commotion about former GOP contender Newt Gingrich’s work for Fannie Mae?

Donilon worked with that government sponsored enterprise for 6 years and it was at the heart of the financial meltdown. Even Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner admitted the GSE role in the meltdown.

Were the leaks done intentionally, to shore up the image of a president viewed by many people as projecting a weakened image of America?

One very disturbing leak came directly from the mouth of Vice President Joe Biden. Media wrote Biden’s leak off as a typical Joe-gaffe. Biden told the world exactly who took Osama bin Laden down, a direct violation of the Navy SEAL ethos.

Leaks don’t happen accidentally in my opinion—there’s always a political motive in Washington.

As Caddell’s allegations make their way through the blogosphere, consider the attitude towards Julian Assange as well as the soldier who allegedly gave Wikileaks classified information.

Assange is a publisher whose rights to free expression in the U.S. are unquestionable. Same goes for the Big Media who leaked Obama’s security info as news content.

Donilon, working for the government, is on par with the soldier who currently sits in a brig.

Donilon was on the list of attendees scheduled for the Bilderberg meeting held in Chantilly, Virginia in early June.
