Evoking ’60 Minutes’ of yesteryear: Veritas talks with labor bosses
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2:03PM The latest Project Veritas investigation revealed how labor bosses know exactly which politicos they can count on. Among them: Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) of New York. (Screen snip from video at Project Veritas)James O’Keefe is one of the few indie journalists doing investigative stories that evoke the early years of the TV program ’60 Minutes.’
O’Keefe, who founded Project Veritas, has shed light on voter fraud, ACORN and Medicaid. Now O'Keefe is shedding light on green jobs and union ties to politicos.
The latest from Project Veritas features union bosses describing in explicit detail their cronies in government and the means employed to gain access to taxpayer money. The investigation also illustrates shadier aspects of the “green” trend and government grants given to union-friendly types who claim they will create jobs. Paying people to dig holes and fill them back in or to simply go change someone's light bulb qualify as jobs.
The labor bosses tell the actors, “We’re good with [Senator Kirsten] Gillibrand and [Senator Chuck] Schumer..."
Both senators are Democrats.
I’ve donated to Project Veritas because I think O’Keefe does very important work that few others are willing to tackle.
The labor bosses in this video aren’t evil people. They’re simply carrying on a political system that has been in place for years. What they don’t realize—what no one who feeds on government revenue realizes—is that to enable the dirt mover scheme the actors in the Veritas video concocted, money was taken from someone else.
There are thousands of examples of lack of accountability and outright fraud when it comes to federal funds. That’s one reason government reform is the only solution to our problems instead of the tax hikes Democrats seek after levying at least 21 new tax hikes during the administration of President Barack Obama.
