10th Amendment Center fires on HuffPo’s anti-nullification rant—figuratively

An article currently running at the Huffington Post targets “nullifiers” like me.

Those of us who believe in the U.S. Constitution know the federal government has transgressed legal limitations so profoundly it will take decades to restore real liberty to our country. And that will happen only if we elect liberty-minded leaders. We have a vast amount of work to do.

The article, “The Return of the Nullifiers,” is written by Josh Horwitz,  Executive Director, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. No, I’m not going to link to anything at HuffPo—just Bing the title.

Horwitz opens his article with a quote from Tucson shooter Jared Loughner whose politics would swing closer to the nihilist Left than Right. I would bet you money Loughner grew up in a Leftwing home, but that’s another debate.

Horwitz demonstrates a dearth of intellect by equating nullification with violence. He made a bizarre statement—the Right is “literally─up in arms” over ObamaCare.

Obviously, Horwitz has us confused with some of those crazy Occupiers who throw stuff at cops and rape women. Please note—not all Occupiers are violent.

If you value liberty, there is no way you can accept the shyster ruling the U.S. Supreme Court issued for an unconstitutional law. SCOTUS admitted the law was not constitutional, and then took a Left turn by reshaping the bill into a tax bill. SCOTUS did this as President Barack Obama rambled around the country campaigning, telling his devotees the bill is NOT a tax bill—it’s a penalty bill.

Mr. Horwtiz might want to accept the fact that those of us who are not in the Democrat fan club are not stupid.

Horwitz should be ashamed of himself.

The Tenth Amendment Center is one of the most vital organizations in the country at present. The only wall between what will ultimately be a totalitarian government and freedom is erected in each state.

One more thing of note—Horwitz may not have realized that Obama has nullified two laws passed by Congress—IRCA 1986 and welfare-to-work. Obama also engaged the U.S. in a war in Libya without so much as consulting Congress. Then there was the assassination of a U.S. citizen on foreign soil—no charges, no trial, just execution. That’s without drones over domestic areas of the U.S.

The real lawbreaker sits in the Oval Office with enough ammo to blow up the world. [Hello, Homeland Security—I know I just used a taboo term. See you again soon.]

The Right is not up in arms, we are up in reality. Furthermore, we are technically not exclusively “the Right.” Libertarians, Republicans and moderates have issues with that bill that is an insult to a free people.

The best option for any state when it comes to ObamaCare is to refuse to implement it. States can keep their Medicaid—the only part of that blighted ruling that made any sense.

As for violence, Horwitz should take a look at the FBI’s Most Wanted Domestic Terrorists list. They’re all Leftwingers.

And just so you know. Without nullification, it is likely slavery would have lasted longer than it did.

Meanwhile, read the Tenth Amendment Center’s excellent response to Horwitz’s misguided rant.
