Illustration: J.K./The US ReportDemocrats appear to be unhinged over presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan (Wisc.) for vice president. Some of those Leftists have resorted to calling Paul a “radical” because name calling is the refuge of a lesser mind.
You should judge a person by his actions, and fact is, radical policies have burned hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars as our disposable income slides.
A sampler of radical decisions and lapses is below—the list could run much longer, but this is the Web.
Earmarks and Spending Outrages
Obama sponsored millions and millions of dollars in earmarks during his brief term in the U.S. Senate—in 2008 his requests included $3 million dollars for a park in downtown Chicago and approximately $5 million to put a roof on a city museum. [My Barack Obama] Certain other earmarks should’ve caused an uproar but media was too vested in electing the Democrat in 2008. [The US Report]
Lousy Accounting on the auto bailout; taxpayers nailed
“The Treasury Department says in a new report the government expects to lose more than $25 billion on the $85 billion auto bailout. That's 15 percent higher than its previous forecast.” [Detroit News]
Looting of taxpayers
"The General Services Administration gave out nearly $30 million in previously unreported bonuses in fiscal 2011. In all, it spent $44 million on employee bonuses last year." That was without the Las Vegas party taxpayers covered to the tune of more than $800,000.[Federal Times]
Looting of taxpayers #2
"Solyndra’s final liquidation plan estimated that the government will recover just $24 million of the $527 million that taxpayers lent to the company." [Townhall]
Alarming politicization of the Dept. of Homeland Security
The Obama administration effectively labeled all conservatives “rightwing extremists.” For example—for the fast readers out there, this is a direct quote from the DHS document—such extremists “may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.” [The US Report]
Alarming allegations of shenanigans at DHS
Yep, a sex scandal media couldn’t find time to cover. [NY Post]
Ongoing ineptitude at the Department of Agriculture
Agriculture officials spent $2 million on a program that had one intern and got nothing done. Nothing. [The Washington Examiner]
Dead people got checks—almost 90,000 of them
"The federal government sent out checks to 89,000 dead or incarcerated people in 2009 as part of the $814 billion stimulus program, a watchdog reported." [CNBC]
Outsourcing
Outsourcing has no better friend than Obama—from loans to Brazil for drilling to taxpayer money to a car company for building pricey alt-fuel cars in Finland. [The US Report; The US Report]
Subordination to the United Nations
Obama is a “citizen of the world” for sure, but he’s also the first U.S. president to fall for the sham the U.N. calls a Human Rights Council. Even President Bill Clinton nixed that deal. My article about UN Resolution 7/19 explains why this was not a good move for the American people. [The US Report]
Assault on the middle class wallet—and the poor as well
Obama’s policy has caused our disposable income to decrease by 0.3 percent. Bush 41, Bush 43, Carter, Clinton, Nixon and Reagan had policies that caused our disposable income to grow. [The US Report via The Wall Street Journal]
Democrats can yell “radical” at the top of their lungs, but they need to find the nearest mirror when they do it so they can see who the real radical is. Or just gaze upon a photo of our president.
Meanwhile, your government is bleeding taxpayer dollars and there's no adult in charge to staunch the flow.
