After 21 tax hikes, Democrats' platform for 2012: "Thou shalt covet"

The oil painting 'Greed' by Maurice Sterne hangs in the Dept. of Justice. The photograph was made by Carol M. Highsmith in 1941 as directed by the General Services Administration. (Photo: U.S. Library of Congress)Do enough work in marketing and you learn the power of greed. All those direct mail efforts in your mailbox and advertising in general will entice you by either appealing to your greed, your fear or the powerful theme of sex (see any issue of any women’s magazine).

Why do you think you get envelopes in your mail that look like they have a check inside? Greed.

As you listen to President Barack Obama speak, there's something important you should take away.

Democrats have opted in this campaign season for a vice that made the Ten Commandments. Our creator didn’t tell us Thou shalt not covet without good cause.

In every speech Obama has made, he’s used the term Democrats hope to burn in your brain: Fair Share.

That term is widely used in school programs when a fee is assessed students for special activities. At one school my younger daughter attended, that fee is called “the fair share fee.” Smart of those Dems to borrow a slogan from the education industry/bureaucracy their party has erected in the interests of political allies, not students.

Obama implies that if you’re a couple earning more than $250,000 a year, you’re wealthy. The president knows that isn’t true, not in the sense of real wealth. He doesn’t care.

Obama wants more money in the federal treasury so that he can continue to spend money on whatever his political allies want. He does not care if the money is spent on something practical. He has never even apologized for the Solyndra scandal that bilked taxpayers.

Nor has Obama apologized for the money spent on the corrupt Fast and Furious operation, Cash for Clunkers (your used car parts got more expensive because of that one), the GM bailout (the labor union is happy knowing they can count on a taxpayer bailout) and a healthcare bill that will be a friend to no patient.

All Obama could do when someone asked him about the failed “shovel ready” recovery that cost us hundreds of billions was laugh and joke about the deal not being “shovel ready.” Dems thought that one was hilarious—making fools out of those of us who funded the failure.

Employees at the General Services Administration took home $44 MILLION in BONUSES in 2011. Where’s our “fair share” of that? Instead, all we got is a taxpayer ripoff. I meant to put that in all caps.

The GSA should be shut down and reconfigured as it would be in the private sector. Instead, these federales will go on to greener pastures funded by you and me. They'll laugh all the way to the retirement community and beyond.

The Obama campaign is counting on your capacity to covet.  Why should anyone have more than you, even if you never worked a day in your life?

In the past year, Americans have witnessed their government bleeding money on Medicaid and Medicare fraud, IRS refunds, Democrat crony corporations, food stamp promotions in Mexico and a General Services Administration that is corrupt to the core.

The federal government has zero credibility when it comes to managing taxpayer money.

Yet this president stands in front of us and tells us the rich aren’t paying their “fair share” when nearly half of all Americans pay no income taxes at all.

Who does pay taxes? The Tax Foundation disclosed who pays the bulk:

The income group ranging from $100,000 to $200,000 paid 20.4 percent of total taxes, the largest percentage of any group. Close on this group’s heels is the $200,000 to $500,000 group. They paid 17.3 percent of total taxes.

The president is promoting greed because Democrats have nothing else to offer. They obviously are incapable of governing.

If you include ObamaCare, Democrats have pushed through at least 21 tax increases since gaining a stronghold over the U.S. government. That’s still not enough—Democrats want more.

Dems know the uber-wealthy have the resources to legally manipulate the tax code—after all, Dems could have rewritten the entire code if they wanted. They held absolute control of the government until the GOP took back a piece—the U.S. House—in 2010.

Fact is, this group of Democrat leaders cannot run the country anywhere except into bankruptcy.

The Obama campaign is counting on your capacity to covet.  Why should anyone have more than you, even if you never worked a day in your life?

Obama is a skilled speaker. Just remember that every time you hear the words “fair share”, what you’re really hearing is a politician telling you, “Thou shalt covet.”

We should remind ourselves that some of the worst tyrants in history succeeded because of greed, and the impact on the people, even those who believed they would benefit, was tragic.
