Top Libertarian notes Obama’s shady past

Wayne Allyn Root is a familiar name to Libertarians and most Republicans, and he is a former classmate of President Barack Obama. Root, a talk show host, author and former Libertarian vice presidential nominee, wrote an article about attending Columbia University when Obama was there.

Top Libertarian Wayne Allyn Root suggested Gov. Mitt Romney do some horsetrading with President Obama on records from the past. (Screen snip of Root's website home page)Root paraphrased Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet regarding a “big skeleton” in Obama’s closet. “I smell something rotten in the state of Denmark.”

Root said Romney should “call Obama’s bluff” on disclosing records.

Democrats have made an issue of Romney’s past tax returns, and even the Senate Majority Leader threw protocol to the winds by needling Romney about those returns. Harry Reid made controversial, unsubstantiated accusations on the Senate floor.

Many traditional media outlets have picked up the Democrats’ meme—no surprise to Republicans or Libertarians.

The same media have never questioned any of Obama’s records—from college records to Illinois Senate records.

When Obama admitted de facto fabrication of characters in his memoir, media bought the excuse the characters were “composites.”

Nor did media make much of the differences between two certificates of nomination Rep. Nancy Pelosi signed in 2008. Different language appears on each of the certificates, with one omitting this part:

“…[the following]…are legally qualified to serve under the provisions of the United States Constitution.

Questions about Obama’s birthplace, his college years and eligibility were first raised by supporters of then-Sen. Hillary Clinton, the Democrat who opposed Obama for the 2008 nomination.

Root raises valid questions in his essay, pointing out:

“We both graduated (according to Obama) Columbia University, Class of ’83. We were both (according to Obama) Pre-Law and Political Science majors. And I thought I knew most everyone at Columbia. I certainly thought I’d heard of all of my fellow Political Science majors. But not Obama (or as he was known then- Barry Soetoro). I never met him. Never saw him. Never even heard of him. And none of the classmates that I knew at Columbia have ever met him, saw him, or heard of him.”

Breitbart turned up a very intriguing bio maintained by Obama’s literary agency for years. That bio claimed the president was born in Kenya. The agency said it was a typo "fact-checking error."

Breitbart also found a poster listing the spelling of Obama’s first name as “Baraka.”

Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona has conducted an ongoing investigation of Obama’s past, and he has also raised legitimate questions ignored by traditional media and many conservative media. The Dept. of Justice decided to investigate Arpaio.

Root wrote:

“My bet is that Obama will never unseal his records because they contain information that could destroy his chances for re-election.”

The writer of the bio said that it was AN ERROR, not a typo. And to imply that Obama could really have been born in Kenya is absurd.

Obama was born in Hawaii as his birth certificate from that state and the repeated confirmation of the facts on it by the officials of both parties in Hawaii, and the Index Data and the birth notices sent to the newspapers Health Bureau Statistics sections by the DOH of Hawaii in 1961 all prove.

Only 21 people total came to the USA from Kenya in 1961, and if Obama and his mother were two of them---which is enormously unlikely---Obama's mother would have had to have traveled alone. Why? Because WND has proven with a FOI Act request that Obama's father was in Hawaii when Obama was born. Oh, and Obama's Kenyan grandmother never said that he as born in Kenya. That was a myth created by birther sites that cut off the tape and the transcript just before she answered the question: "Whereabouts was he born?" She answered that question: "In Hawaii," and said it repeatedly, and in another interview she said that the first that her family in Kenya had heard of Obama's birth was IN A LETTER FROM HAWAII.

Thanks for catching the typo-factcheck item. I've corrected the content above. Amazing how an agency like that would miss a "factcheck" so many times.

I appreciate your position on the president's birthplace. That is the position his supporters and a great many conservative media take as well. It's bizarre that the prez delayed release of his document for so long, but that's another of many strange behaviors he has demonstrated.

Please note his birthplace was not the gist of the article--his university records are the matter at hand.

And note that Harry Reid did exactly what I did with one exception--everything I wrote is sourced.

We welcome all here; even supporters of politicians we don't agree with.

If you ever come across any information about why Pelosi's nomination forms differed, that'd be interesting to hear.
