Arrogant Congress seeks tax hikes while wasting tax dollars

Spend some time trying to track your federal dollars at work and you’ll soon realize it’s a near-impossible task. Don’t look to government. Compare the private website recovery.org with President Barack Obama’s website recovery.gov. Quite naturally the private product is superior to the government’s incomplete product. As I write this column, dastardly miscreants (profanity would sound better I know but we’re keeping it civil) in Congress are spending our dollars trying at the same time to grab more of our dollars. And all the while stimulus dollars and other dollars are being burned on projects like a federal fish cleaning station. [continues below graphic]

The private website recovery.org is far superior to the government's efforts regarding transparency with the stimulus money.
Then there’s the matter of the inspector general of the Corporation for National and Community Service. He just got “removed.” Gerald Walpin tried to get millions back after they were blown by Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson—at issue is an amount believed to be $75 million. That’s chump change to your government. Meanwhile First Lady Michelle Obama has dispatched her chief of staff to CNCS as a senior adviser. CNCS doles out money to various community groups who are supposed to make a difference in low income communities. I might have some “hope” if those same low income communities were not mired so deep in government socialism the residents may never even realize there is a way out. It’s called self-reliance. Youth Today has the sorry story of the latest insult to taxpayers. A great place to trim the federal budget is CNCS—shut the joint down and save BILLIONS.

Then there’s the warning reported by MarketWatch from FBI director Robert Mueller—“to brace for a potential crime wave involving fraud and corruption related to the economic stimulus package.”

Our vice president won’t make us feel better about Mueller’s warning. MW also said, “Earlier this month, Vice President Joe Biden said some stimulus-related scams had already happened and that some mistakes were inevitable. President Barack Obama said Monday that the White House is trying to make sure the stimulus money isn't being ill-spent.”

Let me tell you about “ill-spent.” Sacramento is getting $106,704,486 of the $5,788,885,158 California scooped up. One project in Sacramento: a fish cleaning station.

It’s time for Democrats to do the house cleaning the GOP has undertaken. Legislators like Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Chris Dodd and many others have been in Washington so long their very names are creaking like old bones. These institutional Dems are a living monument representing the burning of taxpayer dollars to cater to preferred voter groups. They do not care about this country. They are establishing a level of debt that ultimately will create civil unrest and make this country vulnerable.

During the Bush administration, millions and millions were lost to fraud as well—via Medicaid and mortgage lending.

Almost every fiscal policy coming out of Washington is unconstitutional. Obama hopes the money won’t be “ill-spent.” Biden said some “scams” have already happened. As usual, these two can’t even get on the same page.
