Congress set to keep Obama's promise electricity will skyrocket

The Cap and Trade bill, HR 2454, also known as Waxman-Markey, should go down in history if the bill is passed,  as the greatest looting of the US consumer in history. I still wonder how Americans could elect a president who tells them in advance, "Under my plan...electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

Whatever your preference in politics, Cap and Trade is no one's friend. It is not an environmentally sound plan. It manipulates prices inherently, with areas using coal paying far more in energy costs. Businesses will of course simply pass the cost onto consumers, and even President Barack Obama can't stop that unless he goes totally totalitarian and acquires the entire US economy. The Dems of course are close to doing that  now. [Continues below video.]

Neoliberals cursed and criticized President George W. Bush from the first day he took office. Yet the administration run by the neoliberal wing of the Democratic Party has changed nothing for the good. I believe the party simply wants to redistribute American wealth--not within the country but outside it. Money is designated for other countries within this more than 1,000 page bill. Despite failure and disastrous foreign policy, there's nary a word of criticism from neoliberals now.

The Wall Street Journal has a spot on analysis of what Cap and Trade will cost you. If you don't call your representative to ask him or her to vote no on this bill, you are handing your lifestyle and a large part of your income--significant manifestations of your liberty--over to the government and corporate government cronies.

The science is NOT settled on climate change, recently called global warming and years before that, the new Ice Age.

HR 2454 is an excercise in bubble building, costing out technology that does not even exist. The fact the Supreme Court has decided CO2 is a pollutant should have brought the whole country waving signs into the streets.

It is very difficult to understand the arrogance of a Congress and a president who want to increase financial burdens for a populace where unemployment is rising, where employers are cutting salaries, where we are already paying high prices for energy as it is. Obama promised you change. What he and his Democratic Party are delivering is catastrophe.

I plan to publish a list of every representative voting for this bill. I phoned my rep today and he is voting 'no.' It's in your best interest to ask your rep to do the same. If your rep votes for HR 2454, don't vote for that rep next time you're at the polls. Any representative voting for HR 2454 does not have the best interests of the American people in mind.
