Creepy or Hip? Obama to address the school kids

If I had a child in high school, I'd send a copy of 'Atlas Shrugged' with my student on the day of the national address. Civil disobedience and all that. What will Axelrod and crew think of next? I see President Barack Obama every time I tune into the Quack Box. But I guess the kids are missing all those sound bites because they probably don’t rivet themselves to cable or network news. Thus, our president will address all available school kids directly on Sept. 8, with a speech at 1 p.m. Principals across the land may decide whether to air or not and in doing so, perhaps decide whether to err or not.
The same evening will have our president in a TV special—described by media as a “documentary”—alongside singer Kelly Clarkson and basketball star LeBron James.
There’s even a uniform lesson plan prepared by the Teaching Ambassador Fellows at the US Dept. of Education.
If ever there was a monetary sinkhole whereby taxpayers fund an entity that returns nothing but misery and diktats, it would be the Democrat-founded DEC. You could zero out the whole department and it would have no appreciable effect on education whatsoever. Doing so would save the taxpayer billions, not only in direct salaries but also in benefits.
Statists will likely praise this sort of indoctrination via an all-powerful centralized government, especially for government schools.
Conservatives will probably either keep their kids home or ask that they be able to leave the classroom. I make these projections after reading numerous message boards.
It’s for the voter to decide the benefits in a charismatic, rock star president addressing all the school kids. Third world or developed national propaganda? Creepy or hip?
Where, exactly, are the benefits to the republic from the leader of the most powerful nation in the world taking time to do public relations via captive elementary, tween and teen students?
