Dear Gibbs: 'The process' worked its way through this family

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs dodged a reporter's question about raising taxes on the middle class, saying, "We're gonna let the process work its way through."

President Barack Obama, during a healthcare townhall, spent 17 minutes dodging a constituent's question about the wisdom of raising taxes in this economy.

I can attest to both Gibbs and my president, the process definitely worked its way through this middle-class taxpaying family. It was not a pretty sight. For many of us who have lived within our means, worked hard and tried to save, taxes are an annual burden that keeps on growing. While we acknowledge the necessity of paying reasonable taxes, we reject the concept of being fleeced.

Until Congress is brave enough to downsize this government, taxes will grow. That one is a no-brainer and I do not believe Tax and Spendthrift Democrats currently in control will do a single thing to address the issue. I believe the only hope for doing anything about the size of this government lies in the GOP, a Party that most certainly has learned a lesson about spending as well as reaching across the fabled aisle.
