'Nancy State' Climate bill vastly expands bureaucracy, runs on Copenhagen time

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, political commandant in what might be called the emerging ‘Nancy-State,’ may see her fondest wishes come true when the US House of Representatives votes on the Climate Change bill engineered by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.). I remember talk show host Rush Limbaugh saying Pelosi would bring San Francisco values to Congress.

Rush Limbaugh predicted the 'Nancy State' when he said Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would bring San Francisco values to Washington. California is flat broke, by the way.[Photo from rushlimbaugh.com.]Neoliberal Democrats are in a hurry to accommodate President Barack Obama who wants the deal done before climate talks are held in Copenhagen in December. The president called “Senator Government” by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) during the campaign will, according to one of many newspapers enamored of the Dem agenda, once again vastly expand government power and expend taxpayer money. The militaristic sounding Clean Energy Deployment Administration will see to financing and other matters as carbon credit trading gets down and dirty. Democrats do love their economic bubbles—dot coms, mortgage lending and the like.

The bill spans approximately 1,000 pages. The Wall Street Journal reported Democrats hired a speed reader who is not an elected official. At least someone in Washington read the bill. We taxpayers paid for that too.

Get ready for the federal money grab
A number of organizations and Institutes such as The Tax Foundation and The Heritage Foundation forecast this bill will cost Americans dearly.

Most of us appreciate the possibilities of alternative energy. But that should be a free market concern rather than a government orchestrated taxpayer funded trading scheme that puts money up for investors who will reap the benefits. Those investors should absorb the risk because they will certainly absorb the government-manipulated profits. Some idealists believe this will lower energy costs. It won’t.

It is likely the Dems will protect the lowest income quintiles from direct costs the energy bill will drive. But if you think the poor won’t see a reduction in income once this bill gets big legs, you’re so wrong.

The climate bill is based on Gorian theory pushed by former vice president Al Gore for as long as anyone can remember. Dissenting voices were turned away from Congressional hearings and pro-Democratic media has refused to cover the fact a number of respected scientists, economists and physicists disagree with most of Gore’s assumptions. The climate has changed since this rock was formed; otherwise, we humans would not be here.

Hold representatives accountable for their votes

We’ve tracked the climate change debate since this website was founded; to read more than you probably care to, simply input the words ‘Waxman’ or ‘Climate Change’ into the blog search bar above the Archives [left column].

I’d suggest bloggers come together and compile a list of every representative voting for this bill. We should post that list on our websites and urge constituents to turn every one of them out of office. Government perpetuated injustice under presidents like Franklin Delano Roosevelt even as leftwing historians and media praised him. The same thing is happening now.

If you’re smart, call your representative to protest this bill. I’d be willing to bet you could give a test to every Dem who supports it and they’d all fail with the possible exception of Waxman.

The new climate bill erects another federal agency that will have the power to determine who can and cannot emit carbon by controlling the sale of credits made literally of thin air. The bill runs on Copenhagen time and proves a conservative talk show host had quite a bit of wisdom in saying Pelosi would bring those San Francisco values to Washington.

Pelosi has done that and she’s shoved her flat broke California values down the throats of Americans who will pay and pay again for the Democrats’ latest disaster otherwise known as the Climate Bill. The people running our Congress could screw up a cannonball with a rubber hammer. They should be immortalized in history as the administration that ushered in 'The Nancy State.'
