Political elitists are clueless about terrorism and big government
Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 2:06PM By Kay B. Day
Right about now New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg should be doing some soul searching about his bigotry and thanking God the alleged naturalized citizen’s alarm clock malfunctioned or, depending on whose account you believe, wasn’t set properly. Before the failed bomb was attributed to a Pakistani turned US citizen, Bloomberg implied that someone who didn’t like the healthcare bill might have set the bomb in Times Square.
The mayor joined his fellow elitists in yet another slur against anyone who doesn’t want a Nanny government, and of course, for most conservatives, the present government is the biggest fattest Nanny in American history.
Bloomberg’s bias against government reformists would be comical if pop media didn’t take him so seriously. Katie Couric comes to mind—goes to show anybody can read the news nowadays.
Then there’s Joy Behar. Her voice is like one of those car alarms you can’t shut off. She asked a reporter why President Barack Obama has to be nice to Republicans. Behar may not realize Obama is actually president of all 50 states, or 57 states, depending on whose account you believe. Behar is proof God really does love us all, even those whose intellectual depth is equivalent to the capability of my parakeet.
Newsbusters—by the way you should read this site every day because it’s that valuable—recounted the tale of another one of those MSNBC yaks who is sorry because the would-be bomber is Muslim. Go figure. That MSNBCer is just another run of the mill bigot whose hypocrisy is right up there with that of Al Gore, the man who scalped a mountain to build a mansion even as he made millions from his alleged environmental credentials.
And just about every loud voice in the Leftosphere has ranted, raved and hyperventilated over Arizona’s new state immigration law that is basically the same law the federal government refuses to enforce.
Clueless.
You’d think after a US Army base was attacked and more than a dozen innocent people were murdered, and you’d think after the Christmas Day bomb attempt and after that goofy woman who became a radical Islamist sympathizer and after this latest attempt to kill innocent Americans, the elitists who control media and government would be able to remove the walls they’ve built around their intellect and instead of attacking Tea Party people, focus on doing something about the people who want to kill us whether we’re gay or straight, Protestant or Catholic or Jew or Muslim or Wiccan, hip-hopper or country girl, professor or food server.
You’d think these yapping goofballs would acknowledge what a West Point study found—that 85 percent of al Qaeda’s victims are (drum roll, please) Muslims.
Today I listened as pundits and various government officials praised (what else) government for thwarting another attack.
The problem is government didn’t thwart this attack or the Christmas Day attempt. Matter of fact the Christmas Day attempt was thwarted by passengers, although the official government report said, “The device did not explode, but instead ignited, injuring Mr. Abdulmutallab and two other passengers. The flight crew restrained Mr. Abdulmutallab and the plane safely landed.”
That official account does not correlate to other accounts. Had Obama been a Republican president, government-allied media would be having a field day right now.
Elitists are clueless about reality. That’s how we achieved an economic meltdown, ended up with thousands of lives lost on September 11, 2001 and how an oil spill in the Gulf has been so politicized there’s no telling if the damage could have been limited before now.
As for the Arizona bashers, conservative weekly Human Events points out something about the border—in 2008 there were “three individuals encountered by the Border Patrol at Southwest Border checkpoints who were identified as persons linked to terrorism.” There were 530 aliens identified from special interest countries. Those countries are deemed potential terrorist threats to the US.
Word to the wise—don’t rely on these elitists to keep this country safe. Be observant and even though you may risk a lawsuit, report suspicious behavior.
And remember this. When your personal standard of living erodes, when your electricity bill begins to “necessarily skyrocket”, when the IRS health cops come after the 20-something whose insurance policy doesn’t meet federal standards, when your grandma’s Medicare Advantage plan she pays serious bucks for is no more—be sure to thank an elitist.
The politically elite class is just plain clueless.
And you really don't have to be nice to an elitist. You don't owe them a thing despite the fact they appear to believe you owe them everything. They're an entitlement class unto themselves. And they're totally hopelessly clueless.

I saw Jay Leno at Correspondent Dinner his best line was; “That was my favorite story (this year) Republicans and a Lesbian bondage club. It’s ironic, Republicans don’t want lesbian getting married but they do like watching them “tie the knot”. So I thought that was interesting.”
You can say the same about Tea Party (they are haters not debaters or as others have dubbed them screamers not dreamers), they say they respect the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence but they do not mind passing laws, through weak Governors (no one voted for this crazy) who only care about getting reelected on the backs of undocumented workers, that will not pass Constitution muster, just like Arizona’s House Bill 2779 from two years ago, keep passing them Arizona and the rest of us will continue to challenged them in a court of law and you will fail again (and yes we will Boycott Arizona). Their phony patriotism is sickening; they are just racists going by another name. We all know you are just itching to put a sheet on their head? Let’s face it the Republicans had eight years to deal with health care, immigration, climate change and financial oversight and governance and they failed. It appears that the Republican Party is only good at starting wars (two in eight years, with fat contracts to friends of Cheney/Bush) but not at winning wars as seen by the continuing line of body bags that keep coming home. The Republicans party will continue turned inward to their old fashion obstructionist party (and their Confederacy appreciation roots) because they continue to allow a small portions (but very loud portion) of their party of “birthers, baggers and blowhards” to rule their party. I will admit that this fringe is very good at playing “Follow the Leader” by listening to their dullard leaders, Beck, Hedgecock, Hannity, O’Reilly, Rush, Savage, Sarah Bailin, Orly Taitz, Victoria Jackson, Michele Bachmann and the rest of the Blowhards and acting as ill programmed robots (they have already acted against doctors that perform abortions). The Birthers and the Tea party crowd think they can scare, intimidate and force others to go along with them by comments like “This time we came unarmed”, let me tell you something not all ex-military join the fringe militia crazies who don’t pay taxes and run around with face paint in the parks playing commando, the majority are mature and understand that the world is more complicated and grey than the black and white that these simpleton make it out to be and that my friend is the point. The world is complicated and people like Hamilton, Lincoln, and Roosevelt believed that we should use government a little to increase social mobility, now it’s about dancing around the claim of government is the problem. The sainted Reagan passed the biggest tax increase in American history and as a result federal employment increased, but facts are lost when mired in mysticism and superstition. For a party that gave us Abraham Lincoln, it is tragic that the ranks are filled with too many empty suits and the crazy Birthers who have not learned that the way our courts work is that you get a competent lawyer, verifiable facts and present them to a judge, if the facts are real and not half baked internet lies, then, and only then, do you proceed to trial. The Birthers seem to be having a problem with their so called “facts”. Let’s face it no one will take the Birthers seriously until they win a case, but until then, you will continue to appear dumb, crazy or racist, or maybe all three. I heard that Orly Taitz now wants to investigate the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC), she wants to re-establish a family values party, that’s like saying that the Catholic Church cares about the welling being of children in their care, too late for that. Yee Haw!
Hey, Montana, Yee Haw!
I rest my case.
best, KBD
The real flaw in the logic here is that some folks believe that the violence and illegal activity is due to undocumented workers. In reality, violent crime is down in Arizona but the media and the hard-liners in AZ make sure that if an undocumented worker is involved, it’s big news, but the facts are that violent crime has slowed in the last few years in AZ. The law passed isn’t going to stop the real problem which are drug runners and smugglers, It isn’t even going to slow them down.
There was a great article in the LA Times featuring an interview with an ex-Phoenix cop who had to deal with these issues. (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/immigration/la-me-0502-lopezcolumn-20100502%2C0%2C2732982.column)
And he said it very plainly after a white cop was killed: “I told people that it’s not whites or Hispanics who killed Marc,” he said back then. “It’s drug-dealing cop killers. The issue isn’t ethnicity — it’s crime and drugs.”
And this is the real problem with this law is that it doesn’t address the real issue, at all.
Hey, You,
I think you'd have to cull the border counties out on the crime stats--seems to me that's where a lot of the concern is coming from, as well as any counties that are a conduit once they're across the border.
In my opinion Arizona's statute is a sort of desperate act to the failure of the federal government to address immigration in a logical manner rather than a political or ideological manner.
The point is you don't know who comes across--there's no documentation whatsoever.
Aside from securing airports and sea ports, securing the border would do a lot I think to ease the path to some sort of viable plan that would at least lead to some sort of legal status for those who have no criminal background.
[Adding this: for many of us, the border represents an opportunity for terrorists--Americans are not the only people who see clip after clip of people spilling across. That is a definite weakness in our security. And it's not the first time we've been let down. Congress promised after the amnesty during Reagan's presidency to secure the border. That promise was broken.]
I also believe it is imperative that Mexico solve her immigration problem. There's no disputing that many come here because of stringent rules in that country. And the human rights abuses have been acknowledged even by the president.
What is counterproductive is using the race card. That leads to nowhere.
Besides all this, any bill will need to be honestly costed by the CBO and not with the trickery used with the healthcare bill.
And besides all that, the war on drugs needs a definite do-over. Obviously it is not working and the billions we spend should at least be producing some positive effect.
Frankly I attribute most of this to the failure, past and present, of leadership in Washington. People like to blame presidents. They should be turning a very harsh eye to the House and the Senate.
I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.
I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!
Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.
The law is modeled after existing federal law.
Federal law is not being enforced.
No nation on Earth permits people to come and go in the country without obeying the law.
All US law on immigration is far more generous and tolerant than any other country and that includes Mexico whose laws do not permit undocumented migrants to obtain work and whose laws include the right for any cop to stop any person and ask for papers.
All Men are created equal! The founders had it right, when attempting to form a perfect union and they also knew that they were not there yet but knew we one day would get there. Lincoln moved us forward as did JFK and LBJ. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.
It is my contention that this AZ law is not constitutional and will fail when challenged (unless they keep adding more amendments), pretty funny for a perfect law, now why hitch your wagon to this dead white elephant? I do not understand. See You In Court.
The Ariz. law is constitutional.
Before JFK ever thought about supporting civil rights, GOP President Dwight Eisenhower signed the first Act.
LBJ was a consummate racist.
Read some American history. And then compare our laws to those of other countries.
Arizona has the right to determine whether people are in the state legally, both as a financial matter and as a security matter.
See you in court.
