Rita Cosby announced her new book at the Women Honor Valor luncheon.Celebrity journalist, triple Emmy winner and bestselling author Rita Cosby announced her new book at the Women Honor Valor luncheon in Columbia, SC on January 20. Cosby spoke at the luncheon held to support the 2010 Medal of Honor Convention in Charleston. She described her father’s role as a Polish resistance fighter in WWII. Cosby told the audience the new book represents “the most amazing story of my life.”
Lt. Col. W. Thomas Smith, Jr., introduced Cosby who is also his friend, at the luncheon attended by Medal of Honor recipients, 3 former SC First Ladies, the chief justice of the SC Supreme Court and other dignitaries.
In a column at World Defense Review, Smith recounts the fascinating back story of Cosby’s father who is 84 years old. Smith said the WWII fighter was recently recognized by the president of Poland for his service.
Smith is a military analyst and widely published journalist. He said Cosby’s book will be released by Simon and Schuster in May, 2010.
