Absolutely. If you wade through this bill, you'll see it isn't all about climate change, as Boehner said. And one thing's for sure: electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket. Americans are clueless.

There are hundreds of CHILDREN every year given LIFE sentences for felony "murder". A large portion of them get sentenced to DIE IN PRISON -- absolutely no possibility of parole. Many such children had no idea someone might die and had nothing to do with the murder itself.

These kids have no clue about the bogus "felony murder" invention. CHILDREN are in particular vulnerable to it because they often freely admit what they did instead of trying to get a deal. Applying it to them makes a mockery of the pretense that these kids were "adult" enough to know the possible legal consequences of their actions.

Amnesty International documented more that ONE THOUSAND inmates sentenced to DIE IN PRISON for felony "murder" committed when they were juveniles -- some as young as 13!

At the same time the soldier who masterminded the MURDER of an Iraqi family (including a 6-year-old child), simply so he can RAPE a 14-year-old girl, will be eligible for parole in I think 7 years. And there are thousands of adults like him getting lesser punishments for murder or rape of children than what children get when they are made responsible for the action of someone else (often an ADULT).

Treating thousands of CHILDREN far more harshly than thousands of ADULTS praying on children is part of what makes the U.S. "justice" system such an utter DISGRACE in the eyes of the civilized world.

When is America going to wake up?

Obama claimed that the average American would not bear the brunt of this historic tax-increase: he stated that instead ““It is paid for by the polluters who currently emit dangerous carbon emissions.”

Just compare this outrageous falsehood to Ronald Reagans’ famous quote:

“The most dangerous myth is the demagoguery that business can be made to pay a larger share, thus relieving the individual. Politicians preaching this are either deliberately dishonest, or economically illiterate, and either one should scare us.

Business doesn’t pay taxes, and who better than business to make this message known? Only people pay taxes, and people pay as consumers every tax that is assessed against a business.”

And after the way the rammed this through the House with little debate, without legislators even reading it… and while quarantining the GOP from any meaningful input whatsoever, any foolhardy individuals who still believe Obama’s threadbare “bipartisanship” spiel ought to have their head examined.

Ryan, read the whole bill. Including the 300 pages inserted at 3 a.m. the day of passage. I'm all for conservation--so much of my life has been spent writing about natural resources. But this is one sorry piece of legislation that will only result in misery for the American people.

As for reducing cancer, well we can hope. But there's the issue of radon, compromise of our watersheds, and insecurities in our food and pharmaceuticals, even some produced at home. Frankly, I'm not too sure about this bill reducing cancer, but like I said we can at least hope for something positive.

In my opinion, this was a necessary piece of legislation. I'm glad that Congress (and the people of the country) are finally starting to take climate and environmental protection seriously.

At the very least, this should help reduce new cases of cancer.

This story keeps getting uglier:

Did you know that Simon Properties shut down the Atlanta Tea Party by "asserting authority" on property agreements that had expired in 2004? They asserted rights they don't have. If the information about the expired agreements had come to light sooner, the Atlanta Tea Party could have unfolded according to plan.

The good news coming from this story is that in spite of the heavy-handed deceptive sabotage, Atlanta-area Tea Party patriots will have their day. Kay, thank you for this excellent piece; altho it is now June 25, it is every bit as relevant today as in March.
While welcoming the leftists to join, it's worth mentioning that the vast majority of them are devoid of any real knowledge of history, of the Constitution, or of the world. Further, most of them have no use for the Constitution, being much in favor of Marxist dictatorship. They missed their time when Stalin was in power - perhaps they can help bring back a Stalinist regime. Oh - and a small point for all you lefties who actually excuse Stalin - did you know that Stalin and Hitler had a treaty in place to divide up Europe? It all went by the wayside when Hitler attacked Poland, of course. The point is, there is little fundamental difference between Stalinist Communism and Hitler's National Socialism.

You lefties are supporting, knowingly or un-, a would-be totalitarian regime.

But maybe that is what you want.

The UN is a far-left organization, an obvious attempt at one-world government after the League failed so miserably. Leftists Woody Wilson(D) and Teddy Rose(R) both pushed for severe limitations on our Constitutional provisions for individual rights, in favor of blatant Statism. Thus the League, now the UN.
Not only is the UN the intentional precursor to global socialism and the end of the USA, they treat us like dirt, for all we have done to make the UN possible. What a bunch of hypocritical parasites; but just like most of the the unable, ignorant, noncontributing, pseudointellectuals of the left, they think it is their right and duty to punish those who carry their weak carcasses. - Dick
