Democrats’ amnesty could be expensive, create national security problems

CBP Border Patrol agent pats down an illegal alien who will be returned to Mexico. (Photo: Gerald L. Nino, Customs and Border Protection)Democrats and Republicans are working on plans for what politicians call “immigration reform,” but the impact of the liberal party’s plans could prove expensive for the U.S. taxpayer. There are also concerns about national security.

One issue up for debate involves entitlements. Should illegal aliens who get a green card via the new legislation gain access to taxpayer funded health care like Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act?

Obama's illegal amnesty for illegals deserved reporter's callout

Democrats routinely use government resources to pander, as evidenced by this snip from the U.S. Forest Service home page.Obama played a game of political charades on Friday, using spin to justify his insult to the U.S. Congress. It was easy to guess the word behind President Barack Obama’s speech and actions—amnesty. The president got called out by a reporter whose actions were justified.

Congressman wants answers on fugitive set free by State Dept.

President Barack Obama wasn't kidding when he promised change, and his handling of illegal aliens has delivered. Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) was astounded to learn Obama's State Dept. released a fugitive after local officers had detained him when they spotted his car missing a license plate.

Was ObamaCare a linchpin in plans for failed amnesty bill?

As Democrats in Congress colluded to shove ObamaCare (technically the Patient  Protection and Affordable Care Act) down taxpayers’ throats, I repeatedly tried to warn people the bill was a failure on several fronts. I correctly predicted working Americans’ health insurance premiums would not decline. I correctly predicted job losses (those started immediately after the bill was signed—in Sallie Mae, an entity not even related to healthcare).

I correctly predicted increased costs for the government (IRS cops to enforce the individual mandate and continuance of predictable fraud that has plagued Medicare and Medicaid for decades.)

As the bill progressed, I also pointed out that very few in Congress had actually read the thousands of pages in the bill which was in my opinion another step towards socialized medicine lusted for by Dems for many years. A Democrat never met a socialist principle he didn’t like.

DREAM Act aside, immigration system needs investigations

“The issues you wrote about are not exclusive to California USCIS but Mayorkas has issued orders to grant ungrantable cases throughout USCIS.”—Message to The US Report

The US Report received that message after publishing columns about Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R) inquiries asking for information about potential benefits fraud in the immigration process. Grassley sent a letter to US Citizenship and Immigration Services director Alejandro Mayorkas in September.

What will the DREAM Act cost the US taxpayer?

That sounds like a simple question—what will the Dream Act—the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act of 2009, cost the US taxpayer? Having spent a great deal of time trying to find an answer, I have come up confused.

I could use President Barack Obama’s State of the Union cost projection--$9 billion, according to the National Taxpayers Union. That was projected for “immigration reform.”
