‘Atlas Shrugged’, a visionary work describing current global struggle

There are, I am told, two important rules about writing book reviews.

The first is that any book reviewed must be a newly released book. I am going to break that one. The second is that the reviewer must be able to summarize the essence of the book in ten words or less. I am going to ace that one.

Ayn Rand rising as Tax Day, ideologies converge in U.S.

Ayn Rand died 29 years ago, yet her legacy thrives. A film based on her most well-known novel ‘Atlas Shrugged’ premieres on April 15, traditionally known as Tax Day in the U.S. Perhaps because of the film premiere or perhaps because of the current political climate, Rand is being discussed, debated and in some instances, despised all over again.

April 15 inspires a coupling: tax day and ‘Atlas Shrugged’ premiere

April 15 is the day when even clear heads grow muddled over the amount of money due the federal government. Nonpayers of income tax don’t have the muddle—they get refunds in a best case scenario. On April 15, 2011, however, there will be a counterweight to the roundup of federal revenue. On that day the film ‘Atlas Shrugged’ (Pt. ‘100 voices’ a big benefit for study of Ayn Rand canon

Scott McConnell's book '100 Voices' will benefit those interested in the works of Ayn Rand. What’s the best way to really get to know an author, besides reading her works? Talk to those who knew her personally. That’s what oral historian Scott McConnell did and the result is his book 100 Voices: An Oral History of Ayn Rand. McConnell’s book will offer a big benefit for current and future students of the woman admired by many freethinkers around the world. Hundreds of thousands of copies of Rand’s books still sell and according to the Internet Movie Database, a film of Rand's definitive work Atlas Shrugged is set for release around mid-April, 2011.

To compile and refine interviews with 100 of Rand’s contemporaries talking about the author from a personal and professional standpoint—it’s fair to say McConnell has given a gift to the academic and even the pop culture worlds. After all, Rand transcends both. The book even has its own 100 Voices Facebook page.

‘Atlas Shrugged’ will come to theaters in 2011

It’s hard to believe, considering all the past rumors about translating Ayn Rand’s iconic novel into a film. But Big Hollywood said ‘Atlas Shrugged’ will be released in theaters in the second half of 2011. Seeing this news sent me on a search to learn more about the film.
