For Clinton at DNC, it’s a legacy speech; for Crist, search for a political future

Photo: The US Report/KBDPresident Bill Clinton will speak at the Democrats’ national convention in Charlotte, and so will former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist.

Democrats have probably invested hope in both men for different reasons—Clinton as sage of the party and Crist as disenchanted ex-Republican in search of a political future.

There are potential political hazards for both men should they falter.

Former Republican ex-governor from Florida changes tune on voter legitimacy

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to calculate the odds of ineligible votes determining who the next U.S. president is. After all, we have roughly 11 million foreign nationals in our country at present and President Barack Obama ignored current federal laws and Congress to offer them what amounts to amnesty.

It’s also generally known that identity documents are easy to come by.

Now Florida's ex-governor Charlie Crist has jumped into the debate.

Gingrich gets game back in interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace

This video from Townhall originally produced by CNN sets the record straight on an ad run by the Romney campaign.

Former Speaker of the US House Newt Gingrich got his game back during an interview with Chris Wallace on Fox News. Gingrich explained an issue that arose during the CNN debate in Jacksonville .

An ad aired by the Romney campaign claimed Gingrich said Spanish was the language of the ghetto. This claim has been parroted by Leftist bloggers and even by some newspapers that claim to “fact check.”

The claim is false. Some so-called fact checkers resorted to saying Gingrich “implied it.” That is not true by a long shot.

Wire story on Florida education chairman misleads on Crist’s switch

A wire service story about the state Board of Education chairman’s resignation appeared in a number of Florida daily newspapers like The Miami Herald on Friday. The article provided details about shakeups on the board after new Republican governor Rick Scott began his term.

Former no-party-affiliation governor Charlie Crist is mentioned in the article allegedly because Crist had reappointed the chairman originally appointed by former governor Jeb Bush. There’s some spin about Crist in the article that should be corrected.

In Florida as midterm nears, the oranges hang low right down there with the politicos

Calamondins grow well in Florida, in a container or in the ground. They ripen late in the season in our area, and they have a lemony taste. We like to put small slices in our tea.In the nation’s fourth largest state, we are beginning to see some types of oranges ripen. Those on my Satsuma are heavy with pulp and juice—I had to prop one limb on the bottom up to make sure the fruit didn’t rest on the ground. Hanging even lower than those small tasty fruits are a few select politicos.

Crist hack Kennedy assails Rubio supporters in political class war

The St. Petersburg Times let its leftwing spirit dominate a story* on Thursday. The header related to Senate frontrunner Marco Rubio (R), suggesting misuse of campaign funds which turned out to be non-misuse of campaign funds. The paper threw in a little ancient history for good measure, returning to charges about expenses under the former chair of the Republican Party of Florida. The article alluded to a blogger for The Miami-Herald who dug into the current campaign funds story and came up with nothing.

Debate party guests applaud Rubio as Crist vows to ‘crash that tea party in Washington’

US Senate candidate Marco Rubio. [Republican Party of Duval County]A crowd of supporters converged at Mudville Grille in San Marco on Wednesday night to watch one of the most popular candidates in the GOP take on Gov. Charlie Crist (NPA) and Rep. Kendrick Meek (D). Of all the candidates, Rubio stood out for his clarity, his consistency and his core belief that government should get out of the way of the private sector.

Meek came off as more focused than Crist. The Democrat representative stuck to his talking points—the middle class and anti-Republicanism.
