New EPA regs could kill over 1 million jobs, cost billions

The EPA website offers an interactive map where users can click their state to see how much money the EPA claims the state will realize after the new severely limiting standards are imposed. No solid figures are given for the collective costs to consumers. The Mercury and Air Toxics Standards seek to reduce mercury pollution from coal- and oil-fired power plants.

Florida 10th Amendment Center warns EPA nutrient standards will ‘strangle’ state’s farmers

Andrew Nappi, director of the Florida Tenth Amendment Center, has issued a warning about water nutrient standards the Environmental Protection Agency aims to impose on The Sunshine State. In an official statement, Nappi asked state legislators and congressmen at the federal level to “stand up for Florida’s agriculture and sovereignty.”

Nappi said, “Everyone wants clean air and water.” But he said the Clean Air and Water Act is an “unfunded mandate imposed upon the sovereign states by the general government.” Nappi believes the act will “wreak destruction on Florida’s farmers.”

Texas takes EPA to court over EPA greenhouse gas power grab

Governor Rick Perry addresses media about the Texas challenge to the EPA.The Environmental Protection Agency plans to regulate carbon via an ‘endangerment finding’ for greenhouse gases, and now Texas will take legal action to challenge the federal agency’s power grab. Gov. Rick Perry (R-Tex.) issued an announcement on Tuesday.

Inhofe says EPA didn’t want truth about science in global warming dispute

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) wants an investigation of a report allegedly stymied by the EPA. EPA analyst Alan Carlin submitted data contradicting the agency’s intent to classify carbon dioxide as a pollutant. Carlin is an economist rather than a scientist, but global warming alarmists have also used data from a wide range of experts to make the case for the expensive energy tax bill, also called the American Clean Energy and Security Act or Cap and Trade, passed by the US House.

Fox News said Carlin emailed his agency, declaring his comments “valid, significant” and critical to EPA’s findings. [Story continues below video]



Carlin’s supervisor responded by email, saying, “The administrator and the administration has [sic] decided to move forward on endangerment, and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision…”
