GOP Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Act makes good first impression despite Obama’s claims

HR 3630 Screen Snip shows section of the bill related to federal retirement contributions. The bill proposes common sense changes that leave benefits far more generous than those in the private sector because the federal employer model uses taxpayer funds.

As President Barack Obama travels the country (often on taxpayer dollars) in search of support for his reelection, Republicans in the US House of Representatives put together HR 3630. The bill makes a very good first impression, although I acknowledge progressives are getting a better deal than this conservative would give them.

Customs and Border Patrol involved in Gibson Guitar assault

Photo from www.gibson.comA story at The Hill on Monday reported some environmental groups claim Gibson Guitars “promoted” misinformation about federal raids on the company's factories and facilities.  One group mentioned, the Environmental Investigation Agency, was formed in the United Kingdom.

Such groups have seized de facto ownership of the world’s natural resources. Input from such groups determines law and regulations such as amendments to the Lacey Act first passed in 1900. Unemployment is sky high and regardless of the Stimulus, the economy remains lethargic. As the economy deteriorates, Democrats are talking tax hikes at every corner, and they want to spend even more.

Bloomberg said on Tuesday the government may consider another Stimulus.

Truth about federal employee costs won't fit into a Tweet

As President Barack Obama Tweeted on Wednesday, talking about matters like “Internets,” he stuck to tried and true talking points. Even the Powerwall blog at MSNBC called the Twitter Townhall “useless.”

Isn’t it challenging to tell the whole truth in 140 characters?

Federal employee pay freezes came up—bottom line on that is Obama did and did not freeze. How so?

Liberal Dems miss the boat on cutting spending

Some Democrats complained about the US House of Representatives’ symbolic vote on the debt ceiling, but a number of Democrats voted ‘no’ along with all Republicans. It’s no secret the federal government has grown so large we can’t keep track of taxpayer dollars. Here are a few examples of irresponsible use of taxpayer money:

In tight market, sweet deal for federal retiree rehires

Spend some time on a government website and there’s no telling what you’ll find. Yesterday I came across a notice at the Internal Revenue website. The notice announces job opportunities for Treasury Dept. retirees and it's obvious they're getting a sweet deal.
