As the end of the year approaches, many political observers are keenly aware of the shortcomings and failures of the Obama administration.

You might see Obama’s team that way as well, but I have to admit the Left is awesomely superior to the Right in one regard—media.

SBE Council CEO tells C-SPAN regulations, tax stability are major concerns for small biz

Karen Kerrigan is president and CEO of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council.Karen Kerrigan, President and CEO of the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council, appeared on Washington Journal (C-SPAN) on Wednesday, and she pointed to a critical influencer in the marketplace: uncertainty.

Kerrigan said small businesses would like to see Washington rein in regulations and they also want tax stability. “Every time this president talks about tax increases, he creates uncertainty,” she said.

For Kerrigan’s 100,000 member council and 250,000 small biz advocates, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act—“ObamaCare” on the street—is a particular worry.

Rubio co-sponsor of Paul’s REINS Act

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) joined other Republican senators in co-sponsoring the REINS Act (S 3826) introduced by Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). Rubio issued a statement that said The Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2011 aims at better drafted and detailed legislation, an improved regulatory process and more accountability by the Legislative Branch. Although most Americans are clueless about the impact of regulatory fees on businesses and individuals, those fees can be hefty.

Local governments get shellacked with new fed sign requirements

Evoking President Barack Obama’s remarks about Democrats getting a ‘shellacking’ in the midterm elections 2010, local governments are about to get shellacked financially. Cities and towns will now be forced to erect new street signs that are allegedly easier to read. Federal bureaucrats have created new rules and compliance will not come cheap.
