Big donor meeting ignored by media—joke is on Democrat supporters

The Democracy Alliance held its winter meeting recently. The group has a major impact on Democrat policies because of the millions of dollars donors provide for furthering a neoliberal agenda. (Map: CIA World Fact Book)The Democracy Alliance held a winter meeting the last week in November, but unlike Republican donors’ meetings, this gathering was ignored by media. The DA self-describes on the group’s paper thin website as “progressive investors/donors and movement leaders committed to a stronger democracy and more progressive America. “

There’s not even a contact phone number on the website.

The DA website does list bios on the leadership. Among the leaders listed is Michael Vachon, described as “George Soros’ political director.”

Maybe Obama can explain why he outsourced jobs

Even Annenberg had to admit Obama's claims about Romney's outsourcing are false. (Screen Snip: Annenberg Fact Check)President Barack Obama can't tout economic success in his reelection themes, so he’s taken to accusing Gov. Mitt Romney of outsourcing U.S. jobs. Obama’s pitchmen took that theme from a Washington Post story.

The newspaper has debunked Obama’s claims, but not nearly as fervently as the paper would debunk claims made about a Democrat.

What’s interesting to me, however, is how media have ignored Obama's enthusiastic outsourcing of U.S. jobs.

Did Soros’ media influence impact wars in Iraq, Afghanistan?

Remember the vicious behavior the left displayed whenever the topics of Iraq, Afghanistan and President George W. Bush came up? From Code Pink to Democrats like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) came accusations that Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction. Anti-war protests were common. Legacy media picked up the meme. And one of the Democrats’ most influential benefactors devoted some of his wealth to elections in the U.S., with a key goal of limiting Bush to one term.

George Soros is in the news again, not for politics or wealth, or for attacking a US president’s war policy, but for his ties to more than 30 major news organizations. Those ties are explained in an article at Fox News about Soros’ connectivity to US media. Soros isn’t just known for his wealth—he’s also known for influencing politicos around the world.

A thought occurred to me as I read about those ties—did this wealthy man’s influence, especially with media and leftwing Democrats in the U.S., help to prolong the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Sen. Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer force blogger to join Tea Party

Updated on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 3:30PM by Registered CommenterKay B. Day, Editor

Boston Tea Party engraving on post card from US Library of Congress’ digital collection. Had it not been for the Tea Party and other efforts on behalf of liberty, there would have been no USA.

If you listen to Sen. Harry Reid (Nev.) and Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), you’d think they don’t sound like friends of any Tea Party group. In fact, they are.

Are Democrats on board with UN taxing US citizens?

Red alert on taxes. International looters convened this week in Bonn, Germany. A wire service said carbon taxes and other revenue raising methods have been considered by “a panel of the world's leading economists to raise a staggering $100 billion a year to fight climate change.” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon appointed the panel.
