Tom Slade, former Republican Party of Florida chair, spoke to the Florida Federation of Republican Women in Tallahassee.Republican women gathered in Tallahassee on Sunday to spend several days strategizing about how best to support candidates in the 2010 elections. And giving them an earful as well as homespun advice was former Republican Party of Florida chairman Tom Slade. Chiding Washington for record deficits, Slade said, “This spending spree cannot be sustained.”
Florida Federation of Republican Women president Cindy Graves introduced Slade to a record crowd. Graves said attendance jumped 35 percent this year. Graves welcomed the women with characteristic good humor. She is perhaps the most charismatic Republican in the land if the truth be told.
