2012 GOP field chaotic, but so is Democrat field of one

Democrats are excited about 2012, for more reasons than one. At present the Republican field of official candidates, at least those who have declared, is small—former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and businessman Herman Cain. Politico said Gov. Tim Pawlenty (Minn.) is expected to make his official announcement on Monday, and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is also expected to run.

The field appears chaotic. But the Democrats' field of one has chaos to spare.
