Expendable

Commentary by Chris Carter

Today's Democrat Party views the United States military as nothing more than a political tool to further their agenda. And after Benghazi we see that our troops and intelligence operators are expendable if Democrats think sacrificing them is in their best political interests.

But don't take it from me; just look at what they do.

Messaging Benghazi: Will Hillary run against Obama in 2016?

In October, 2012 France24 published a video showing large caches of weapons in Libya. (Frame snip: France24)Leftwing pundits have long accused Republicans of making a big deal out of attacks on the Benghazi (Libya) ‘consulate’ because former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton may run for president.

How would she message the downfall of Benghazi? Will Hillary opt to run against Obama?

Democrats harp on Iraq as Obama criticized for Libya failures, State Dept. spending

Photo: Screen shot from C-SPAN broadcast of Benghazi hearings; The US ReportAs Sec. of State Hillary Clinton delivered an Oscar-worthy performance during hearings about her failures in Benghazi, the blogosphere lit up. In response to criticism about President Barack Obama’s war in Libya and irresponsible spending by the State Dept., Democrats harped on another war despite the fact it has nothing to do with Libya.

An example of Democrat rhetoric can be found at an article published at Front Page where a reader commented:

How many American dollars was wasted on a war that George W. Bush started in Iraq in his quest for "weapons of mass destruction"? $810,542,654 and counting.

Clinton theatrics aside, five reasons the truth about Benghazi does make a difference

Photo of Sec. of State Clinton: Screen shot from C-SPAN broadcast/The US ReportAs Sec. of State Hillary Clinton faced questions and speeches about the Benghazi scandal, she opted to go into attack mode during an exchange with Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.).

Clinton has dismissed reasons for getting at the truth. She asked Johnson:

“What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator.”

Forward, right?

A fresh look at Benghazi is necessary and in fact, it does make a difference to every single American whether you care about it or not.

Obama’s war in Libya: Once again, Michael Scheuer’s words prove prophetic

Photo: CIA World Fact BookIn March, 2011, after President Barack Obama decided to engage in the war that would ultimately see Muammar Gaddafi  removed from power, one expert didn’t mince words. Michael Scheuer, who headed up the first bin Laden unit for the CIA, said Obama’s decision neutered the U.S. Constitution. Democrats, of course, have no regard for that document anyway, so most media followed Obama’s lead.

The U.S. was liberating another country! Good on Obama.

Scheuer didn’t see it that way, rightly asserting that Libya posed no threat to the U.S., and he labeled the action a “neo-colonial military intervention.”

Durbin uses tirade about Iraq WMDs to run interference for Clinton

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told Clinton he'd have fired her over Benghazi. (Photo: Still shot snipped from video at The Daily Caller)Illinois senator Dick Durbin is a perfect illustration of why we need term limits on senators. The Democrat delivered a tirade during Senate hearings about Benghazi on Wednesday, attempting to run interference for Sec. of State Hillary Clinton.

Before the hearing ended, however, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) neutered any defenses Democrats could mount, even the silly attempts made by Durbin.
