Rubio keynotes Lincoln Day, represents GOP’s best bet

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) will keynote the annual Lincoln Day dinner on Sat., March 19, in Jacksonville, home of the Duval County Republican Party. The 2011 dinner is actually a combined celebration to benefit GOP local parties in Duval, Nassau, Baker, Clay and St. John’s Counties.

In a press release, Duval GOP chairman Lenny Curry said, “Republicans are demanding a sweeping victory in 2012 and working together with our donors and grassroots machine, the NE Florida party chairmen intend to provide it.”

Rubio could well be key to a "sweeping victory in 2012."

Big welcome for Romney amid waning support for Democrat policies

The Duval County Republican Party said that the Lincoln Day event on Nov. 9 was an “unparalleled success.” The annual fundraiser was themed, “An Evening with Governor Mitt Romney, Honoring Tom Petway.” Duval GOP leaders said the event ”topped all previous such events in Northeast Florida.” Days before Romney’s visit, GOP leaders had to expand the event space to accommodate demand for tickets.

Romney keynotes GOP Lincoln Day celebration in Jacksonville

[Photo courtesy of Duval County GOP.]The Jacksonville GOP has made arrangements to increase general seating for ‘An Evening with Governor Mitt Romney,’ scheduled for Monday, Nov. 9, at the Hyatt Regency on the St. John’s River. Tickets are on sale at the Duval GOP headquarters online.

GOP supporter Thomas F. Petway III will be honored for his service to the party at the local, state and national levels. Petway III is also a Circle of Gold recipient from the Florida State University Alumni Asso. and recipient of the F. Prime Osborn, III Distinguished Business Leaders Award from the University of North Florida.

General seating tickets are available at the same prices charged in 2006, “out of respect for the current economic situation,” according to Duval Republican Chairman Lenny Curry.

In spite of economic downturns, Curry said the financial support from sponsors has been unprecedented. "Duval Republican grassroots members are fired up and our donors are eager to make a difference in the 2010 election cycle by providing the finance necessary to make the mighty grassroots an unprecedented success."
