Do GOP leaders realize the opposition declared a bloody war of ideas in October?

Donkeys are cute, but if you have ever been around them, you'll find they can be obstinate and downright mean sometimes. Frequently their actions make no sense at all.Conservative talk show icon Rush Limbaugh is the most recent target of Dem strategists in what many conservatives perceive as a political war. Popular analyst Sean Hannity has had his turn, and so have some conservative journalists. Why do conservatives believe there’s a war of ideas and an official assault on celebs and others who don’t agree with the Democratic move to bigger government, keeping the underclass locked in plantation mentality and promoting socialist ideals?

One reason is a virtual declaration of war by a popular leftist blog site catered to by any Democrat who wields power. This was reported by the conservative blog Atlas Shrugs in October, 2008. Conservative blogger Pamela Geller wrote, “Those of us who swim in these waters know how malevolent and dangerous the leftard blogs are. A shark infested cesspool.”

Why wanting Democrats to fail means wanting the economy to work

Updated on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1:59PM by Registered CommenterKay B. Day, Editor

The Hill ran a surprising snippet about White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. Gibbs ranted about CNBC host Rick Santelli and conservative talk show icon Rush Limbaugh, both of whom have criticized President Barack Obama and the Pelosi-Reid cabal’s economic policies. I don’t ever recall hearing the White House assail media personalities even when I hoped for it, but this is change so I figure it’s part of the package. Asked about Limbaugh, Gibbs told The Hill, "He's got, I understand, a fairly popular radio show." Can a press secretary really be that uninformed? "Fairly popular"?

The President’s address and the GOP response: sharp contrast

President Barack Obama took to the podium last night, delivering his customary excellent oratory to his Democratic admirers and Republican wait-and-seers in Congress. Obama’s speech, if he really means what he said, will mean 4 more years of failed policy. His Congress will indebt the nation on a level never seen before. His negative comments about Wall Street had a negative impact on the market Wednesday morning. Everybody hates Wall Street when times are tough. But when times are good and those 401k and pension programs rise, no one hands out attaboys. Wall Street greed is your own greed whether you admit it or not. Furthermore, the Dems are setting up an ambush on the upper middle class.

DeMint calls recovery bill a ‘three trillion dollar mistake’

Sen. Jim DeMint [Photo from US Senate website.](Washington, D. C.)—Despite the carnival atmosphere in Washington at the moment, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) managed to keep his wits intact and he called the Democratic “recovery” aka “stimulus” bill exactly what it is—a “three trillion dollar mistake.” Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) pointed out a troubling fact during a floor speech opposing the bill—“1100 pages not one member of this body has read.” Boehner also reminded House members the bill was not posted online as promised for the public to read it. What does this bill really mean to the American people?

C-SPAN guest claims no knowledge of Reich's 'white male construction workers' caveat

C-SPAN had an excellent program this morning—I caught part of the ‘Distribution of Stimulus to States’ as Joy Wilson, Counsel to the National Conference of State Legislators talked about states like California getting top federal dollars. Wilson pointed out the Democratic plan passed by the U.S. House of Representatives (with no Republican support) is actually a “recovery” plan rather than a stimulus plan.

“Just words” as President Barack Obama said during the campaign, but words that offer a p.r. shield if something goes wrong as many economists predict and the plan doesn’t get the economy moving.

What was interesting to me was Wilson’s claim she had no idea what a caller meant when he asked her about economic advisor Robert Reich’s comments about ‘white male construction workers.’ To be fair, Reich also mentioned ‘highly skilled professionals’ in his original statement. The gist of Reich’s statements, though, came across as directing federal dollars to the long-time unemployed and minorities—no big change in Democratic politics there.  You can see the video below and decide for yourself.

El Rushbo vs. the Democrats—is freedom of speech at stake?

Rush Limbaugh is no hypocrite, and his dedication to true conservatism has sparked Democratic outrage. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched a disinformation war against popular conservative Rush Limbaugh, and the implications are grim. Limbaugh has never pulled punches. Remember his scathing criticism of Sen. John McCain during the presidential election? Limbaugh reportedly called McCain an “uninspiring candidate” and that was just for starters.

Hollywood leftists del Toro and Damon still angry despite Obama victory

Benicio del Toro is Che in a romanticized film about the Cuban fighter Che Guevara. Photo from N.Y. Film Festival. You’d think all the left leaners in Hollywood—using ‘Hollywood’ as a state of mind rather than as a real geographical reference—would be walking around with a perpetual smile. After all, the candidate the entertainment industry overwhelmingly backed won the office of the U.S. presidency. But no! Angst, for the serious performer, is a duty. That is perhaps one reason Benicio del Toro, of late garnering attention for his role as Che Guevara in the movie not surprisingly named ‘Che’, got a little wired during a recent interview with The Washington Times.
