Based on surrogates’ exchanges with pundits on Sunday, the convention appears to be headed for a grand bashing of President George W. Bush who left office in 2008. There will likely be an effort—soft pedaled for sure—to deflect ongoing criticism of ObamaCare, the president’s signature revenue bill.

ObamaCare tax bill lets states offer sterilization for 15 year olds without parental consent

The ObamaCare tax bill mandates that all reproductive services be covered by insurers.

CNS News did some digging and the upshot is that Obama’s bill would require sterilization be covered for any woman capable of reproduction. That capability varies, but the state of Oregon interprets the regulation as the rule of legal consent without a parent’s permission at 15 years of age.

Obama mentions pay for First Lady amid contraception fracas: Condoms, anyone?

Following the standard of reasoning set by Obama and Fluke, the government should force insurers to cover condoms. (Photo; The US Report)In another in a long (extremely long) line of campaign appearances, Obama told supporters in the swing state of Colorado where he spoke in Denver:

"...I wanna make sure that when she's working she is getting paid the same as men, I gotta say that First Ladies right now don't, even though that's a tough job!"

The president was introduced by Constitutional illiterate Sandra Fluke.

Fluke and Obama are missing a key pillar in the contraceptive debate that really isn't about contraception at all.

An article currently running at the Huffington Post targets “nullifiers” like me.

Those of us who believe in the U.S. Constitution know the federal government has transgressed legal limitations so profoundly it will take decades to restore real liberty to our country. And that will happen only if we elect liberty-minded leaders. We have a vast amount of work to do.

The article, “The Return of the Nullifiers,” is written by Josh Horwitz,  Executive Director, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. No, I’m not going to link to anything at HuffPo—just Bing the title.

Yarmuth goes to bat for ObamaCare Tax bill, doesn’t talk about ‘uninsured’

Democrats like Kentucky Rep. John Yarmuth are going to bat for the ObamaCare tax bill. Yarmuth wants it both ways. Democrats approved of Chief Justice John Roberts' classification of the mandate as a tax. That's the only reason the bill was deemed legal.

Yet Yarmuth and his colleagues are trying to claim the tax bill is not a tax bill.

Weekend update: Tenthers, Mack vs. Nelson and Cher's Tweets

Washington had an exciting week with the Supreme Court decision on ObamaCare. That decision led the Tenth Amendment Center to ramp up awareness about how states can nullify the federal healthcare tax bill and the Florida TAC explains how you can help.

Meanwhile, Rep. Connie Mack issued a statement holding Democrat Sen. Bill Nelson accountable on his promotion and support of the bill. Mack hopes to be the Republican nominee to unseat Nelson in November.

In lesser news, another celebrity meltdown occurred on Twitter with Cher’s rant about presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. No Romney supporters lost sleep over Cher’s Tweets.
