Rubio and Crist go mano a mano with Fox News' Chris Wallace

Day]Former Speaker of the Florida House Marco Rubio goes mano a mano with The Sunshine State’s Governor Charlie Crist in a debate on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.

Rubio and Crist are locked in a duel to determine the GOP nominee for the US Senate seat vacated by Mel Martinez.

The race has galvanized grassroots conservatives drawn to Rubio’s limited government message and it has surprised GOP insiders who initially assumed Florida’s popular governor would be a shoo-in for Martinez’s seat.

Rubio tops Crist in Quinnipiac Poll on Florida Senate primary, but AP calls it a tie?

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) talked to Neil Cavuto about the Florida Senate race. DeMint heads up the Senate Conservatives Fund. The SCF endorsed Marco Rubio as candidate in the GOP Primary.The latest Quinnipiac University Poll shows former Speaker of the Florida House Marco Rubio topping Gov. Charlie Crist. According to the poll, Rubio is “leading 47 - 44 percent and topping Gov. Crist on trust, values and conservative credentials, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.”

The news release header at the QU poll website said ‘Rubio edges Crist.’

The header on an Associated Press writeup said the GOP Primary is a ‘tie.’

Stone on Rubio challenge in Senate race: Crist is a ‘champion fundraiser’

Activist and columnist Javier Manjarres landed an interview with Roger Stone, exploring the Rubio-Crist battle and assorted Florida political issues.Roger Stone never pulls punches when he’s talking politics. Javier Manjarres, founder of the Conservative Republican Alliance and a columnist for Red County, quizzed Stone about the Rubio-Crist battle and other political issues during a recent interview. Manjarres focused on one issue dear to grassroots conservative hearts—Marco Rubio’s battle for the nomination to oppose a Democrat in the race for retiring senator Mel Martinez’s seat. Stone also responded to questions about the current state of Republican politics in The Sunshine State and the clear ideological divide between grassroots and leadership.

Stone is an informational gem when it comes to political interviews—I’ve often said he is a walking encyclopedia on politics, both Democrat and Republican. He’s the guy statists love to hate and strategists and media love to call on. His predictions are usually spot on—most recently he predicted Martinez would retire weeks before anyone else thought about it.
