Glenn Beck’s site jumps aboard the diss-Palin ship

Observing former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began, for me, when she saved Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) flailing Republican effort against now-President Barack Obama in 2008.

Palin has been fileted, marinated and seared, yet she perseveres. Despite many accomplishments, including a governorship and earning wealth far surpassing most women and despite bearing and raising a child with special needs, Palin is a frequent target of the Left and some on the Right. I’ll never figure that out. Seems to me America should be proud of her, but then again, this is a country where a Supreme Court Justice implies our Constitution is an inferior product, so I guess nothing much should surprise me anymore.

When I saw a Tweet describing the treatment of Palin in a blog post at Glenn Beck’s site, however, I was perplexed. Beck always struck me as projecting himself as a free thinker.

Indie consultant for Mary Kay could pass for Sarah Palin’s sister

By Kay B. Day

Carole M. Sumner, Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics in Jacksonville, is very good natured when people tell her she looks like Gov. Sarah Palin. [Photo by Kay B. Day/all rights reserved/copyright 2010] For a second I thought I was actually looking at Governor Sarah Palin. I was covering the Duval County (Fla.) Republican Women’s candidate meet and greet.

I walked over to her and said, “Can I take your picture and I think you know why?”

She laughed as some of the people nearby said, “She looks just like Sarah Palin!”

But this individual is Carole M. Sumner, an independent beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics in Jacksonville. And she granted me permission to use her photo.

Palin tour includes triple hit in Florida; media can’t get enough

Commentary by Kay B. Day

[Photo of Gov. Palin from Alaska Governor website.]Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) heads to Florida November 24 and organizers are preparing for what will likely be a warm welcome. Palin, new book and perseverance in hand, will visit supporters in Jacksonville, The Villages and Orlando. Palin’s press tour in conjunction with the release of ‘Going Rogue’ has garnered deep coverage from print, Web and traditional TV networks. From the moment Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) announced her as his running mate in the 2008 elections, Palin drew media like a ripe orange draws wasps. Obviously, she still does.

Why Palin should head to the activist-pundit chair

Updated on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 12:40PM by Registered CommenterKay B. Day, Editor

Photo of Alaska governor Sarah Palin from Alaska governor website.Maybe I’m the only person in America who wasn’t surprised by Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s resignation. Anyone who has watched media brutalize the Palin family’s reputation should understand. Feeding the frenzy are frivolous accusations from Alaska politicos. The same thing happened to Hillary Clinton on her way to becoming the US Secretary of State. And to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice too. Only the geography was different.

I’ve often said the oldest bias in the world is bias against the female. It’s applied selectively in the States—female politicians are good targets—but it’s rampant abroad. Consider the number of countries around the world where a woman cannot serve as a head of state because of religious barriers or social barriers. I’ve often wondered if a woman might be better at running the UN, thereby running Africa, because all the men have failed. We call it ‘Mother Africa’ but there’s always a daddy on the throne. Why has there not been a female president in Russia, China or the US?
