Christian pastor jailed for faith as Iran cultural agency promotes “tolerance”

The American Center for Law and Justice published a story about Pastor Saeed Abedini who was thrown into jail without formal charges after he evangelized in Iran where he was born and grew up. Abedini is a U.S. citizen now, having come to America for the same reason the country’s first Europeans came—freedom of faith.
Meanwhile, IRNA, the official government news agency in Iran, published a story about the First International Baku [Azerbaijan] Forum on 'State and Religion: Strengthening Tolerance in the Changing World'.
Comments by the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization indicate Iran’s public statements contradict official policy on people of other faiths.
