The immigration report Romney and Fox News don’t talk about

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney doesn’t hold back when the issue of immigration is raised. More than once he’s criticized Texas Gov. Rick Perry for signing a tuition bill passed by overwhelming numbers in the Texas Legislature.

Romney has also hit Perry hard on jobs figures, claiming that most new jobs in Texas went to illegal immigrants. Romney bases that claim on a report issued by the Center for Immigration Studies.

Bear with me because like so much in politics, this is complicated.

Perry does Perry on Fox & Friends; jobs record confirmed by Bloomberg

Texas Gov. Rick Perry talked to the Fox & Friends crew on Friday and he was engaging, informative and decisive—the exact opposite of what we’ve seen in most debates. During that visit as with others, Perry simply did Perry instead of trying to conform to whatever image his handlers are suggesting he project.

Perry is an enigma when it comes to formal debate.

Media explodes with experts on the Texas economy

Texas has solid job numbers, as a painstakingly crafted article at the blog Political Math explains.

The U.S. overall has pathetic job numbers despite hundreds of billions of current and future taxpayer dollars spent in an effort to create jobs.

You’d think media would praise the Texas numbers, wouldn’t you? All we’ve heard from media since the first time President Barack Obama took to a national stage ahead of the 20008 General Election is jobs.
