Pelosi muddles Constitution, goes partisan on ‘anti-government’ ideology

Pelosi attempts to cite the Constitution, Video at Breitbart. (Screen snip from video)Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), no doubt aching to get the House speaker gavel back in her hands, often amuses political observers in the same way Vice President Joe Biden does. Pelosi’s presser on Thursday was no exception.

Once again she skewed the U.S. Constitution, the contract all members of Congress vow to uphold. So does the president, but with this administration, that promise has apparently been waived just like ObamaCare Tax Bill requirements for a number of union groups.

DHS pays us another visit: Snoop/share program?

It’s not the first time the Department of Homeland Security has visited The US Report, and I am certain it won’t be the last if Democrats continue to run the nation.

I published an article today, for Examiner, about the DHS snooping program. Did you know some of the information DHS collected actually went astray? It happened during a “preparatory self-inspection,” but that gives little comfort.

Obama and Clinton’s foreign policy spells clampdown on rights at home, abroad

Dr. Walid Phares not only predicted the Arab Spring, he predicted the uncertainty that would follow. [Book cover from WalidPhares.com]Democrats have already put the so-called ‘Arab Spring’ behind them. Fact is it isn’t over and the outcome is uncertain.

In Egypt a businessman named Naguib Sawiris will soon go on trial for Tweeting a message about a cartoon of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Mickey had a beard and Minnie wore a veil in the cartoon. A group of Islamist attorneys is reportedly suing the business leader who could actually go to jail.

One great barrier in any scenario where East meets West is freedom of speech. Countries with Muslim majorities do not permit practices a Westerner takes for granted—criticism or ridicule of the majority faith is not acceptable.

The Obama administration's political appeasement of groups like the OIC is basically creating special status for one faith.

Judge rules against ObamaCare

Breaking News

Megyn Kelly concluded her Fox News show 'America Live' with an announcement about the Florida court ruling on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act commonly called ObamaCare. Kelly said the judge has ruled the Act is unconstitutional; Congress exceeded its power.

The judge apparently agreed with former Florida att. gen. Bill McCollum on another issue--severability. Kelly pointed out Judge Roger Vinson acknowledged there was no severability clause in the legislation so the entire bill essentially falls.

It is likely the Supreme Court will ultimately end up with a decision about the bill opposed by more than half of the states in the U.S.

Judge Vinson however did not stop the law from going forward because no damage has occurred yet since the bill's provisions don't kick in until 2014.

Most Democrats in Congress admitted they did not read the bill.

The US Report did read the bill and TUSR took the position the bill was unconstitutional before the reconciliation bill, via the back door, passed it.

Newsmax credited former AG McCollum for pegging the bill's vulnerability on severability.

As states fight Obamacare, supremacy clause misunderstood

Missouri voters have shot down the Obamacare mandate for individuals to buy health insurance, and other states have adopted various means of fighting the new law that is a legislative boondoggle. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) demonstrated the lack of logic in the poorly conceived bill most in Congress admitted they did not even read before passing.

Making her pitch to a group of supporters, Pelosi said, “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”

I get Chris Matthews-type shivers when I read a statement like that from the woman who leads the U.S. House.

At every turn when there is dissatisfaction from states about vague, poorly written federal legislation that can be extremely costly, media and statists cite the supremacy clause in the U.S. Constitution.

Decision on Arizona immigration law delayed as constitutional questions arise

A Border Patrol agent places a Mexican National under arrest for transporting drugs into the U.S.[Photo by Gerald L. Nino, US Government/Border Patrol.](Phoenix, AZ)—Arizona is now months away from enforcing its new immigration law SB 1070 – that is, if the federal government permits its enforcement at all.

Governor Jan Brewer requested that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals expedite a review of U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton's decision to temporarily block five sections of SB 1070 which took effect on Thursday. Gov. Brewer is asking the court to consider “whether the district court relied on an erroneous legal premise or abused its discretion.”
