Ten sites join Maritime Tactical Security in support for Navy SEALs

Ten websites are supporting three Navy SEALs facing court martial because of accusations related to a detained terror suspect. The websites represent a Support The Navy SEALs Facebook group with more than 108,000 members, a Christian publisher, Republican congressman Dan Burton (Ind.), Republican congressional candidate Scott Taylor (Va.) who served as a SEAL, Sark Securities and others. The US Report is among the ten sites supporting the SEALs.
Burton and 40 Republican congressmen have written a formal letter to the military commander on the SEALs' behalf. Burton wrote, "There is more than enough doubt as to whether these SEALs committed any wrongdoing at all."
More people that we can count have written or publicly posted strong character testimonials for the SEAL3, including those who have served with or known them. [Story continues below graphic.]
Trials will be held beginning in April in Iraq for Petty Officer 1st Class Julio A. Huertas Jr. and Petty Officer 2nd class Jonathan Keefe. Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew McCabe’s trial will be May 3.
McCabe is accused of punching a detainee in the stomach, causing no serious injury. The alleged punch occurred after the detainee was in custody. All 3 SEALs face other charges such as dereliction of duty.
The detainee is reportedly Ahmed Hashim Abed, believed to have been involved in the killings of 4 contractors and the desecration of their bodies in Fallujah in 2003.
The US Report has covered this case since its inception, and we plan to cover the trials. We have openly advocated on behalf of these men based on public information about the allegations.
It is also a concern when the accused and the accuser do not speak the same language. Even with an interpreter, there are many regional differences in language in the area.
You can support the SEALs Defense Fund at the Maritime Tactical Security website. Or join the Facebook group and send these men and their families expressions of your support.
I believe public support, when deserved, not only gives hope to those who stand accused—in this case, unjustly in our opinion, based on what is known—but matters to the broader military community as well.
Our military men, women and their families need our genuine support in these critical times.
