West Palm Beach fav Dem fundraiser arrested by U.S. Marshalls

(West Palm Beach, Fla.)—Thanos Papalexis moved with ease among the glitterati in West Palm Beach until Friday, when U.S. Marshalls interrupted his lunch with a provisional warrant. Page2Live said the United Kingdom issued an extradition request because Papalexis is a suspect in a homicide.

Papalexis is known to locals as an entrepreneur who founded schemes like Vita. The company website says, “ Vita is a membership driven organization that controls and makes available to its customers and members a large inventory of facilities including grand estates, resort properties, private aircraft, boats and yachts and a variety of high end services including chauffeur driven Bentleys and limousines.” Members paid a membership fee ranging from $150-280 per day depending on the level they selected, with an additional one-time membership fee of $10,000.

Jim Pippin said Vita is a 'former club' at his blog:
"Owner Thanos Papalexis left a trail of creditors in his wake between Vita Luxury, a former club called Grand Legacy Club, and other similar club ventures. Over $2 million in court judgments were awarded to parties suing Privee International and Mr. Papalexis. Both Papalexis and business partner at Grand Legacy Club, Daniel Gorman, have past legal problems involving fraud. Gorman plead guilty to defrauding the Florida Citrus Commission out of $85,000 prior to his involvement with Grand Legacy. Scott Phillips, a vendor for Grand Legacy Club who supplied charter jet services said, "The guy is broke and can't pay his bills," speaking about Papalexis. "He was trying to use this airplane as part of his smoke and mirrors routine to lure investors."

The Vita website is still active.

In January, Papalexis hosted a Hillary Clinton fundraiser attended by President Bill Clinton. Problem was Papalexis didn’t own the mansion in Manalapan—the real mansion owner claimed Papalexis was allegedly behind on his rent.

West Palm Beach is always good for a tale. The glitterati are suckers for anything that glitters and apparently Thanos Papalexis was a real shiner until his creditors and law enforcement showed up.
